Customer Reviews

Architect Series II 1.6 cu. ft. Countertop Microwave in Stainless Steel Built-In Capable with Sensor Cooking is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 274.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Microwave Horrible microwave. This microwave came with the new home I purchased, and it broke in under 3 years with very minimal use. Had a repair service out, and they say the microwave doesn't have any spare parts available! Extremely disappointed, last time I purchase KitchenAid appliances.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Retracting statement As it turns out, the control panel plastic was "user-error" in that the plastic did indeed need to be removed (it looked like it was part of the control panel). So, humbly, the statement from Alohaco should be retracted. Enjoy!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A mocrowave oven with flaws The best that can be said of this microwave oven is that it reheats and cooks well. It does, however, have some features that are annoying and troublesome. 1. The plastic door and flimsy latch do not provide a sense of quality or longevity. They scream "cheap". 2, When the timer cycle is complete, the display reads END instead of reverting back to the time of day. A reset is needed to have the time displayed. To me. this seems an unnecessary requirement. 2. The touchpad requires more effort than a "touch" to make an entry. The insensitivity is annoying. In contrast, my KitchenAid oven has a very responsive, silky-smooth touchpad. I guess that I was spoiled by my 1990's vintage Amana Radarange. Too bad it was wearing out. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why I have a 5 month old #1655 microwave that does not heat. The magnetron is broken. The appliance store was not able to help (other than to tell me it normally takes 24-48 hrs. to resolve after a call to KA). I spoke to KA service Thursday 9-8-16. As of Monday 9-12-16 no answer. I called a service agent again who told me I may not hear anything for 7 days. A microwave has become a daily used appliance. Used more than an oven. Why so long KitchenAid? Not enough folks in the call center or too many broken products?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Subpar performance, but.... customer service helped I just bought this microwave a week ago and have had issues with it. Steam comes out the sides and gets stuck between the double pane in the door. Seems like it isn't sealing prompt. I've never se n anything like it cook time also takes longer. However, customer service was amazing and took care of it immediately. Hopefully it was just a bad egg and when all is said and done it will perform the way it should. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use We bought this microwave about a month ago when we updated our appliances in our kitchen. And replaces a similar KitchenAid microwave. I like the large glass viewing area and the ease-of-use. I am disappointed that it doesn't have more sensor cooking. This sensor cookimg for reheating a dinner plate and cooking fresh and frozen vegetables. My old microwave also did sensor cooking of popcorn and potatoes and reheating of casseroles, and soups. I have also had moisture build up between the glass and the door with this microwave which I have never had with any other microwave. It is happened twice in less than a month. Rated 1 out of 5 by from This microwave scares me. Purchased this microwave along with a KitchenAid refrigerator and Jenn Air oven for our recent kitchen remodel. Almost immediately, the microwave started to fail. Most times, when you press start, nothing happens and you have to cancel the operation, open the microwave, and try again. Other times, the microwave just starts on its own.....pretty scary. I've always had good luck in the past with KitchenAid appliances, but their quality has definitely slipped. That shouldn't happen when pay a premium for their products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pricey but we had a small space and this unit fits it. The title is the big explanation for why we chose this model. Our custom built kitchen is 16 years old and when we wanted to replace all our appliances, we had to work within its confines. That meant choosing a refrigerator and microwave that were small enough to fit the spaces. I do not find that this microwave is a great deal different from other less expensive microwaves we have owned. It was pricier than most, but ultimately cheaper than rebuilding our kitchen. But yes, it works very well!
