Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 25 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Second ice maker and no ice again The first ice maker had constant repairs from the time we installed it. They finally replaced it and now we are going through the same issues with the second ice maker. April 29, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not good so far! We built a new home and installed all Kitchen Aid appliances. We moved in to the home in October and already the ice maker has broken twice. We called the local dealer where all of the appliances were purchased and was told that even though the appliances are only 2 1/2 MONTHS old, it has to be repaired 3 times before Kitchen Aid will CONSIDER swapping the appliance out with a new one. WOW I hope I have better luck with the rest of my appliances! December 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 15" Ice Maker A very good ice machine. Makes plenty of ice very fast. October 2, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Like the new design! This is my second Kitchenaid icemaker; unfortunately the first only lasted about 7 years. The earlier model was going to cost almost as much as buying a new one and it was the second time in less than a year that it required expensive repairs. The new features that I love about this model is that is has a light inside and they have positioned the scoop and its bracket in a better place so that it doesn't get knocked down and hidden in the ice. I love the size and shape of the cubes (I have another icemaker in my summer home and the cubes are bigger and cylinder shaped; can't remember the make of that one but I think the cubes are too big). I'm hoping this Kitchenaid holds up better than the first. March 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love It After having a Scotsman as well as a U Line ice maker I'm finally satisfied with this machine. They both had SO Many repairs.... Now it is working like a champ. August 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome ICE! Best appliance purchase! My expression is "Once you run out of ICE the party is over, you can never have too much ice!" Perfect ice for drinks and cocktails. July 22, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect size ice. This is my second Kitchenaid ice maker and it performs much better and with fewer problems than the now discontinued model it replaces. First of all, I like the size of the ice it makes. The cubes (actually not quite cubes, more like small, half cubes) are perfect for cooling drinks quickly. They are small but not so small as to seem like the slushy, opaque pellets made by a competitor. They are smaller than the large round ones made by the other competitor I looked at and which I rejected because offered less cooling surface and would not work well in a cocktail shaker and be hard on a blender. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by wonderful but expensive An under the counter ice maker is expensive but wonderful. ALWAYS buy the five year warranty on this product. Also (this is a must) get a sheet metal pan built if this is going in cabinets. That way, if there is a malfunction the water runs out the front and you can see the water. (the pan should have a one inch lip on back and sides and flat in the front) The cleaner is expensive - there may be other cheaper products available that do the same thing. The ice maker is a very popular appliance in our home. I'm rating the performance fair because it does break down - hence the need for the five-year warranty. November 27, 2013
