Product Overview

This 30 in. KitchenAid Architect Series II 4 element induction cooktop combines precision and speed. Electromagnetic induction technology directly heats the pan while keeping the cooktop surface cool to the touch. Twelve power levels give you the power to rapidly bring water to a boil and sear scallops to perfection. A bridge function lets you combine the power of two elements into one large cooking zone for specialty cookware such as a griddle or oval pan.

  • Cooktop features two 7 in. 2500-watt elements with a bridge, one 11 in. 3700-watt element and one 6 in. 1800-watt element. Each element has Simmer, Melt, Keep Warm and Performance Boost for optimal cooking results
  • Touch-activated controls integrate seamlessly into the surface and include a slider for heat-level selection
  • Performance Boost allows you to exceed the maximum heat-level setting for up to 10 minutes--perfect for rapid boiling
  • Bridge function provides the flexibility to convert two cooking zones into one large cooking zone for even cooking when using specialty cookware or a griddle
  • Smooth ceramic-glass surface allows for effortless cleanup
  • Control Lock helps prevent unintended use
  • Hot Surface indicator. An "H" will appear in the surface cooking area display as long as any surface cooking area is too hot to touch, even after the surface cooking area(s) is turned off
  • Simmer Function automatically selects a low power level to help maintain a constant simmer without boiling over
  • 12 heat level settings to handle everything from searing to sautéing
  • Melt and Hold uses low power levels for melting delicate ingredients or keeping cooked food warm without scorching
  • Use the cooking timer to set times up to 90 minutes. The timer is independent of any other control settings and can be used only on one cooking zone at a time
  • Limited 1-year, limited 5-year parts only warranty on select component parts
  • Induction cooktops require that you use cookware with magnetic properties. If a magnet sticks to the bottom of a pan, the cookware is compatible

Customer Reviews

Architect Series II 30 in. Smooth Surface Induction Cooktop in Stainless Steel with 4 Elements including Bridge Element is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 94.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money on this false "Bridge Mode" cook top I bought the Kitchenaid Induction cook top thinking it was going to be amazing, and with a normal round pan that fits in the space of the burners, it is. Unfortunately for me, I specifically bought a model with the "Bridge Mode" for the burners, and quickly found out that Kitchenaid doesn't feel that people really plan to use this feature. The "Bridge Zone" doesn't actually have any way of heating the pan, so now I have an overpriced cook top that doesn't work as advertised. When I try to use the bridge mode with my griddle, the two round spots where the burners are heat just fine, but the space over the "Bridge Zone" is 200 degrees cooler than the burner zones making it completely worthless. I called Kitchenaid, and the representative I spoke with said it should work fine and scheduled a service call. When the service technician came out, he called their technical department and was told this is normal. If you are looking for a cook top without a Bridge Mode, get a cheaper model, because this isn't worth the extra money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy! If I could give this a zero star rating, I would. Literally the second time I used this cook top, the large burner made a explosive popping noise and fried the electrical panel. After contacting kitchen aid, all they will do is fix this under warranty. I could understand if I owned this appliance for some time. But this was the second use. In my opinion it should be completely refunded. And I would absolutely not buy the same brand. I'm now without a stove until the repair man can come in one week.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from BURNER SIZES I BOUGHT THIS MODEL BECAUSE OF THE TWO 7" ELEMENTS BEING ABLE TO BRIDGE. NOT KNOWING YOU CANT FIND A GRIDDLE THAT WILL FIT. THEY ARE EITHER TO LARGE 0R TO SMALL. THE ELEMENT SIZES ALSO ARE NOT SIZED AROUND STANDARD INDUCTION COOKWARE. THE SALES MEN ARE NOT TRAINED TO BE AWARE OF THIS. I THINK THE BETTER OF THE TWO 30" INDUCTION COOK TOPS WOULD HAVE BEEN THE MODEL THAT DOES NOT BRIDGE AND HAS A WIDER RANGE OF ELEMENT SIZES. I AM GOING TO SEE IF KITCHEN AID WILL EXCHANGE MY UNIT. IF NOT I WILL TAKE THE LOSE AND PURCHASE FROM A DIFFERENT COMPANY. BEING A RESTAURANT OWNER I EXPECT PERFECTION IN MY COOKING.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heats quickly, super easy clean up! Heats up quickly. Love the top doesn't cook spills making clean up super easy! Only complaint, pots have to be exact same size of burner. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast Accurate Cooking! We purchased this appliance to replace an older electric unit that was going out. We had previously been debating on getting gas but now I am glad that we went with induction. It is truly the best of both worlds - FAST, responsive, accurate cooking without the risk of an open flame (we have a little one). The cooktop is easy to clean because spills don't get burned on, as heat is generated inside the pan. I've had beautiful results, no burns, and my kitchen looks cleaner longer. It's also simple to use and has a sleek look with no bulky buttons. I love it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
