Product Overview

The induction technology used in this KitchenAid Architect Series II induction range gives the cooktop the type of power, speed and responsiveness normally found only with gas cooktops. Induction technology transfers energy directly into any magnetic cookware for fast, efficient cooking. And that efficiency is only one reason you'll enjoy this freestanding range. Its Even-Heat True Convection Oven provides even baking across all racks. As an added delight, the warming drawer has a slow cook function that allows it to perform like a crockpot -- no need for another countertop appliance.

  • Spacious 6.2 cu. ft. capacity easily handles family dinners, and holiday cooking
  • Induction cooktop features four Induction Boost elements (one 3700-watt, one 3200-watt, and two 1800-watt). The heat is generated directly in the pan, keeping the cooking surface cooler than with a traditional element
  • Simmer, Melt, Keep Warm, Performance Boost, and Pan Size Detection on all elements gives you precision at all temperatures. Performance Boost adds extra power for getting water to a boil quickly. Pan Size Detection ensures cookware is suitable for the element selected
  • EvenAir True Convection with Auto Convection Conversion. A high-watt element and fan help maintain even temperatures for consistent roasting and baking. And Auto Conversion automatically converts standard recipe temperatures
  • Even-Heat Technology evenly disperses heat inside the oven for consistent results
  • Variable broil: especially helpful when broiling thicker cuts and unevenly shaped pieces of meat, fish and poultry
  • Slow Cook Warming Drawer with SatinGlide system. Cooks food slowly at a low temperature. It eliminates the need for a separate appliance and the drawer glides out smoothly for easy access
  • Touch-activated electronic cooktop and oven controls are easy-to-use for precise temperature adjustment
  • Oven Control Lock function for both cooktop and oven helps prevent unintended/unsupervised use and control changes
  • AquaLift Self-Clean Technology. Cleans your oven in less than an hour without odors and at a temperature below 200°F. This innovative system combines low heat with water to release baked-on spills
  • Extra-large oven window and bright oven light provide clear visibility of the oven interior, allowing you to monitor cooking progress without opening the door so temperatures remain steady
  • 3 oven racks include a SatinGlide roll-out extension rack which allows easy access to position and remove food in the oven. Included Max Capacity rack fits neatly on the lowest oven glide to provide support and room for a large roast or holiday turkey
  • Star K certified for use on the Sabbath and other religious holidays when Sabbath Mode is being used
  • Limited 1-year, limited 5-year parts only warranty on select component parts
  • Induction cooktops require that you use cookware with magnetic properties. If a magnet sticks to the bottom of a pan, the cookware is compatible

Customer Reviews

Architect Series II 6.2 cu. ft. Electric Induction Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Stainless Steel is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 202.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not worth it I bought all new Kitchenaid Pro appliances 5 months ago. They are all poorly made. This range oven takes 30 minutes to preheat just to 350. Cooking has, after 25 years of loving to cook, become a drag. I can't whip up anything quickly because of the preheating. The stove top is ok, and I like the extra large eye with triple heating, but the oven makes the whole appliance worthless. I can't wait to junk these appliances and get something altogether different. Please, don't waste your money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the induction, but hoping to get pots/pans soon... So far, I'm loving the induction stove. And the oven cooks things perfectly. However, I'm not loving that I don't yet have pots/pans to cook with. When I purchased this stove there was a program set up to receive a new 7-piece set of KitchenAid cookware. It's been about 2-3 weeks, and I still have not received the pots/pans so currently I only have a small cast iron pot and my tea kettle to work with in the meantime... A bit frustrating that the wait to receive the pots/pans is 6-8 weeks. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Missing parts So far I have enjoyed my stove. However I have yet to receive the cookware I was told came with it ( the reason I chose kitchen aid, as I was struggling between a different make) and the wireless probe was not in it. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love inductioin cooking Bought this about 1 month ago and so far we love everything about it, with the exception of how hot the front of the stove top gets when backing something [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worthwhile switch! Every so often you switch from one technology to another--I had a Blackberry; now I have an IPhone. It's a pain to go through the switch, but in the end it's worth it. Induction falls in that category. I had always wanted a gas range and even though we live in a newer house, the configuration would not allow us to install without HUGE cost. So we had a great traditional electric. Induction performs as good as gas--very efficient and responsive. That said, it takes a bit of getting used to. The controls are not immediately intuitive. But everyone can learn; it's only a stove not a 747. Our biggest issue was cookware. KitchenAid Canada has/had a promo whereby you get a new set of pots and pans with purchase. But...four to six weeks delivery. We didn't think we would have a problem making the switch; our existing cookware (Gordon Ramsey) was heavy, high quality. Surprise! Not compatible. So my wife and I have been forced to go buy some cheap cookware to make do. I called the KitchenAid service line offering to pay for expedited FedEx, but was told that is "another department". Anyway, it is puzzling why the retailer could not have the pots/pans in inventory. Great products, illogical service. But worth the switch! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a good experience Overall the range works ok. However, the cook top gives a funny noise when it heats up and the oven takes ages to reach the desired temperature (much slower than our old range which was 18 years old when we replaced it. Gone with the good-old-day quality!). The oven door handle was installed incorrectly when delivered. Had to call up customer service to have a technician come around o fix it (Dont understand how can the product gets to come out of the factory at the first place). The worst is that this range is supposed to come with a wireless meat probe and a bonus set of induction cookware. The wireless probe was not delivered when the range was delivered. The lady at customer support tried to convince me it was not included with this range. I had to get her to read the product description page on the website where it is clearly stated the wireless meat probe was part of the product. After 30 minutes of "educating" the lady at customer service, I finally got told the probe was on back order. It has been three months since we bought the range, neither the set of cookware nor the probe has shown up and the customer service still cant give a definite delivery date for the probe. "You are not alone. It is just a matter of wait..." I was told. Hmm... Lets say if you want a trouble-free experience, please look elsewhere... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this stove It took me over a month of research and shopping around to finally pick this stove, and boy am I happy with it. I have waited to do all my Christmas cooking before posting this review. I had to see if this range would deliver. First I want to talk about the oven. I used to have a brand new stove that came with the newly build home, and this thing was awful. It was glass top and just bad overall. All of my tried and true recipes weren't coming out right. At first I thought that it was the altitude, but then we have moved from already high level place and I haven't had any issues with my baking. With the new stove my first thing I tried to bake were cream puffs, which turned out perfect! Crisp on the outside, nice and hollow on the inside, and most importantly they've kept their shape. Second test was Madeleines, which turned out excellent, even with the little foot, as they were supposed to do. There was a bit of a learning curve, this oven is much hotter and faster than the old one. The only thing I haven't really figured out yet is the bottom baking drawer. I'm unsure what can I bake in there. Probably cookies only, since anything a bit higher won't fit in the drawer from the top of the oven part, but with the convection feature, I haven't really find that I need it as much. The top is nothing short of a little miracle. Food browns beautifully, cooks more evenly and thoroughly. The response time is instant. My cooking has changed drastically in time. The old stove I could put a pan on, and go do some dishes and come back and it would be maybe hot. This is not the case with this stove, you actually have to be careful because your oil will burn, it heats up that fast. I am still learning and discovering new things. I hope it lasts me a long time. I love it and would highly recommend to anyone. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brains and beauty We chose this induction range to replace an electric cook top and built in oven that we had previously. Gas cooking is not an option in our area, and I am finally able to have the precision heat source that I was always used to with gas. The installation was very simple, though we did have to install a 4 prong receptacle, as has been mentioned by others. I'm glad we did our research prior to delivery, because our salesman wasn't aware of this requirement and when we asked about it he assured us that nothing special was required. Thankfully, we prepared and had the necessary hardware ready. The induction cooktop is clean, beautiful and the controls are very intuitive. Again, we researched a lot before selecting this, so we were prepared with appropriate cookware of sizes and materials that are compatible. The oven, oh my, the oven. Huge, beautiful, even heading. I have not tried the convection settings yet, but I have baked (traditionally) and also broiled and find the heat distribution to be even and steady. The window and the light: life changing. On my previous ovens, I never found the oven light to be satisfactory or the window to be large enough to get a good view of the contents and how they are coming along. This beautiful oven had such a large window with a great light that I will never again have to open the door to be sure whether something needs attention or not. I had been making do with an unsatisfactory oven that heated unevenly and was too small for many things I wanted to bake, that this oven is just mind blowing. As for the warming drawer, I have not yet used it for warning, but look forward to proofing many bread products and keeping warm many casseroles and side dishes. I have, however, baked a corn pudding in it at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. It came out absolutely perfect. This is going to be amazing for entertaining a crowd and as my favorite holiday is coming - Thanksgiving, I'm just over the moon. This appliance is well built and beautiful [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
