Can the gas burners be lit if electricity goes out?

Asked by: Pete
Yes. I have a duel fuel stove. The top burners have electronic ignition but I lit the burners with a match or long lighter. Worked just fine

I'm buying a 2 story home and the stove sits on an interior wall, how does the venting work for the stove?

My current home has a stove with a vent going out of the roof. How do you vent a stove in a two story home?
Asked by: Red69
Hi Red69, You may use a range hood or over the range microwave that returns the filtered air back to the room. Mike

Replacing a 30-inch gas range

Hello, I currently have a Maytag Gemini Gas range that is also 30 inches wide. I want to replace it with this oven. My Maytag is 46 3/4 inches tall and the depth is 26 5/16 inches.I wonder if this is too deep and would stick out too far from the existing space.
Asked by: Rozziecarol
to tell you the truth I would not purchase an Kitchenaid product they break down constantly and the parts are very expensive even with the warranty. by unit has been replaced twice and the computer board witch is under the burners goes out constantly,$600.00.But to answer your question they have made space in the back of the unit to accommodate your gas shot off valve when you push it back to the wall. Check the product in store in the back to see. Each unit is different

Customer Reviews

Architect Series II Double Oven Gas Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Black is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not enough cooktop area I purchased this item because I was looking for a double oven, I have heard good things about the KitchenAid brand and because it matched the KitchenAid dishwasher that I purchased a year ago. What I never expected was such a poorly designed unit that has far less cooktop space than my lower-end Frigidaire stove. The first experience that I had with the stove was cooking a meal for Christmas Eve, and to my surprise I was unable to fit 3 tall 8qt stockpots on the burners at the same time. The oven knobs are angled up, which takes room away from the front, and the control panel sticks out in the back, which takes away from the back. My advice to anyone who cooks for large gatherings is to measure your current stove and compare it to this one prior to purchasing. I must mention that I am also disappointed in the design of the back of the stove, there is one specific place that your gas line must be located in order for the stove to push flush up against the back wall. Mine however is not located there and the stove sits out about an inch and a half from the wall. I must mention that my old stove was designed to accommodate a gas line at any point along the back of the stove. These are two things I never even thought to consider before purchasing, live and learn I guess.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece Of Junk. Do NOT Buy it... When a friend came over and saw that we had the same oven we started comparing notes and frustration. We both have had these problems: electric ignitors fail. Burners are smokey. Top oven burns cookies, Broiler never has worked as it shuts off as soon as the oven gets hot, even with door left ajar. Self Cleaning oven is useless. Burners are too close together to fit a pot on each one and have it be centered, and these are my regular sized pots, nothing oversized. If the electricity goes out, the range shuts off so there is no cooking during storm (ironic that this is a safety feature of a range whose ignition failed the first month and I need to light them manually anyway)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Grates are hard to clean Grates and area around burner need to be cleaned after every use or they get hard to clean. I learned the hard way and now I am stuck with bad looking grates and burners. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Range I've Ever Used I can't say enough good things about this range. It took a lot of work to convert from electric to gas but was well worth it. It's amazing how quickly the smaller oven pre-heats and I've never cooked a pizza so perfectly at home...perfect crispy crust and perfect browning on top.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT!!!! I love everything about the design of this range. With 5 burners (center oblong one for grill surface) is genius and I love that the grates and grill are dishwasher safe. The interior is blue and looks clean. The controls are easy to use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from KITCHENAID IS THE WORST PRODUCT ON THE MARKET I PURCHASE THIS RANGE 4 YEARS AGO IT NEVER WORKED FROM THE DAY DELIVERED - SERVICE PEOPLE CAME OUT 3 DIFFERENT TIMES AFTER REPLACING THE DOOR LOCK, COMPUTER BOARD, AND GAS VALE. KITCHENAID REPLACE WITH NEW RANGE AND JUST LAST WEEK THE COMPUTER BOARD BLOW UP AGAIN AND I LET THE WARRANTY LAPS. THE COST TO REPAIR IS $700.00 FOR A RANGE THAT COST $2400.00. THEY HAVE BEEN OUT TWICE TO FIX THE DISHWASHER AND MICROWAVE. I WELL NEVER BUY KITCHENAID AGAIN THEY ARE OWNED BY WHIRLPOOL KNOW AND SINCE THEN THERE PRODUCTS STINK. I AM REPLACING ALL WITH LG OR SAMSUNG

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The range does everything I hoped it would do. I always have holiday dinners at my house. I wanted the double oven to give me more temperature variations for dishes as well as the Turkey. I am happy with the small upper oven for single casserole dinners.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST GRILL EVER!!! We LOVE toasted cheese sandwiches and with the middle oblong grill, we now are able to cook them to perfection !! The double oven is an amazing addition... It sure takes the juggle of completing a meal with rolls or biscuits out of the equation for a perfect timing to being able to sit down and eat! Thank You Kitchenaid!
