Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Fix your old dishwasher if you can! My 10 yr old dishwasher had a leak and the repairman told me it would not be cost-efficient to fix. So I did a great deal of research and decided on this Kitchenaid Architect( I first had a faulty Maytag dishwasher that was returned). The bottom line is, the dishes do not come out clean. I have now had this dishwasher for 5 days. New dishwashers are "energy efficient" so the wash cycles go for up to 3 1/2 hrs (not sure how a machine being on longer saves energy but I digress). I always pre-wash my dishes so that the major chunks of food are removed, but I ran a dish that had a bit of ketchup and it came out still with ketchup on it!. I had a glass with some dried-on smoothie and it didn't wash a bit of it off. My utensils still have flecks of food. I am so disappointed as my old dishwasher worked so much better. And it's not due to user-error as I have loaded dishes for close to 40 years and my old machine did a great job. But after reading reviews of other dishwashers I am convinced that there is no good machine made anymore today as companies focus on cost versus quality. April 27, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Replaced existing unit - all went well We replaced an 8 year old Kitchenaid of similar features. We loved the old one but one day we came home and it was fried. Figured it was too old to be worth fixing so bought a new one. September 30, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Dishwasher is great but Home Depot is not! The dishwasher is great. It is quiet and cleans the dishes well. We don't have to wash the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher anymore. I highly recommend this model. Home Depot on the other hand is not great. We paid for installation but when they got to our house they wouldn't install it because the plumbing was in the basement underneath the dishwasher instead of right next to it. It is actually in the garage. My husband ended up installing it and as a result he dinged the front of the dishwasher. I would recommend getting this dishwasher from a local store who will actually honor the installation process. February 25, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Can't rate the washer, wasn't installed. Home Depot uses installers that can't perform simple plumbing or electrical tasks (attach longer power cord). Don't bother. November 19, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Washes well/but slow Dishes are clean but it takes at least twice as long as the KitchenAid it replaced September 16, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good The best part is how quiet it is. The look is fantastic with very clean lines. The performance is what makes me say good not great. A few issues with cleanliness and the unit actually running when the start button is pushed. One issue with black water leacking out from the bottom but was not able to trace the source and hasn't happened again. June 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So quiet! We've had this a month now, and love it. Granted, it replaced a 14-year old model, but I've had new dishwashers in other homes and they didn't compare to this. It does a great job scrubbing everything clean and the dishes come out dry and sparkling. And it's QUIET, like sometimes I'm not even sure it's running unless I check the light. Highly recommend this model. April 30, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Love our new dishwasher This is my 4th kitchenaid dishwasher thru 42 years of marriage, and the very best one so far...only been using it for 10 days, but it is amazingly quiet. Our kitchen is close to the living room, and our prior dishwasher was noisy, but this tops it by far. Cleans very very well. We just updated giving our 10 year kitchenaid away still worked well. Not sure about the inset control buttons....we don't have little ones around so I probably would have been fine with the controls on the front like all the others we had. Just a matter of getting used to it. And we have used one every day with pots and pans, etc. So happy we purchased this one so far! February 9, 2015
