None of the pictures make it clear whether the top tilts upward or not. That makes a huge difference

Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 5580 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I LOVE my mixer!! This kitchen aid mixer is great! It's very versitile, I use it for making side dishes for dinner, making cake batter & icings, even made homemade dog treats! It's a great product & worth every penny!! March 12, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by You know you've been wanting one.....BUY IT! I have put off buying this item for years but finally made the purchase after hand mixing my last batch of double chocolate chip cookies; it too forever and a day to mix in the cocoa powder. My first baking session with this mixer was making a peanut butter cheesecake. It was so much easier to just place the ingredients in the mixing bowl and let the machine do all the work. I rated this item four stars only for the fact that you still need to stop the machine and scrape down the sides of the bowl. If the package had come with one of those new scraping paddles I would have rated this five stars. Seriously friends....take the plunge and buy it. June 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Baker's Best Friend I got this stand mixer when I had the sudden urge to bake. The very first thing I made was a swiss butter cream and this mixer made so easy to make. (it came out perfect!) Very easy to use, clean, maintain. My package came with the whisk, paddle, and hook attachments. You simply twist them on and off to change them. The bowl is high quality and the perfect size for my creations. A huge plus to this Kitchenaid series is that there are MANY color options. My stand actually brightens up my kitchen. Having this device makes me feel like a professional baker! Would recommend to everyone, the investment well worth it! June 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gets the Job Done I purchased the Kitchenaid Aritsan Stand Mixer after much deliberation and interviewing people on both sides of the fence with opinions about stand mixers. I'm glad I purchased it. I have owned it for 3 months and use it about twice a week. I've whipped eggs; mixed cakes, cookies, and meatloaves; and used the dough hook for bread baking. This appliance handled it all. Additionally, I purchased the ice cream maker and had great success with frozen yogurt. I have followed the manufacturers directions for washing the pieces and parts and have not had a problem with any of the pieces and parts. June 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LOVE IT! I love my Artisan Stand Mixer, I can make absolutely anything now. I replaced an old sunbeam mixer where I was immediately displeased upon purchase, the beaters wouldn't even reach the bottom of the mixing bowl.. what an enormous design flaw! I don't have that problem at all with the kitchenaid stand mixer, everything gets mixed in, plus the attachments... OH THE ATTACHMENTS. I got the spiralizer and love to make my zucchini noodles, or zoodles as they call them, the same with butternut squash. I also got a few other attachments, haven't had a chance to play with them yet. Very impressed and happy :) Tony June 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fabulous mixer...BUT! This is the best mixer on the market, hands down. It is well made, and, as such, should last a lifetime! I bought this mixer to replace the exact same model that I bought 10 years ago. I use it 15-20 times per year, which is moderate use, at best, but the switch or motor stopped working properly, so I could no longer control the speed. Mixer only worked on high speed, regardless of setting. For the price, this mixer should have lasted longer. Repair is impossible with Kitchen Aid. I did lots of research online about how to get my old mixer repaired, but everything I read said they got nowhere. I chose to save myself the trouble and just replace it. May 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing mixer!!! I bought my kitchen aid mostly because I have to make and bake most of my cakes, pizzas, muffins, breads, and more. I have a daughter that is celiac and I needed something very strong and efficient to stand all th mixing. After researching and asking family members that had Ktichen aid for decades I had no doubt in my mind. It was the best decision I have done about a mixer. It blends everything perfectly well specially when you talking about mixing gluten free foods all the time. It is fast, strong, and beautiful! I am very satisfied with my choice. June 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beats the old fashioned way Takes all of the work out of kneading dough or mixing. I use this for a lot of things I make. The benefits far outweigh any negatives. As for cons, the only things I'll say is: - Pouring ingredients in while it's mixing can be a little difficult. There's an attachment they sell that makes this a non-issue but I don't own it yet. - Depending on what you're making, if it's not wet enough or sticky enough - not all of the dry ingredients at the bottom will be mixed in so you just need to help it a little and then it mixes well for the duration.
