The item works well and am otherwise happy with it. It does scrape the sides well, but does not scrape the center on the bottom of the bowl. However, the white coating is chipping off at the base, where it connects to the Kitchenaid. This worries me bc I obviously do not want paint chipping off into the food I am preparing.

Gotten this for an extra beater. For me, I noticed the texture of my batter was smoother than the beater using the same ingredients. Either way, it was a welcome addition to my kitchen.

It has a good design and scrapes the side of the bowl really well. I just wish it got the bottom of the bowl better. I'm constantly having to scrap up flour and butter from the bottom to get it to mix in.

I have had (and loved) my Kitchen Aid mixer since 1977. We live on a farm and I do a lot of baking. Bought the flex edge beater last month and love it. Wish someone would have thought of it sooner.

My Hubby gifted me a Artisan Stand Mixer for my birthday/Christmas! The flex edge beater along with some other items were included as a bonus items. I love my mixer and I love the flex edge because it makes baking our weekly cookies a breeze and less messy! It scales the bowl and it's quicker to use this instead of the regular paddle because no "stopping and scrapping" is involved! Best invention ever!!!

I received the flex edge beater with my tilt-head stand mixer as a gift and I love it!! It does exactly what it is designed to do. It scrapes every edge of the bowl so you don't have to.

Not having to scrape the bowl anymore is just so convenient. people complaining about this "making a mess" are probably cranking up the speed right from the start. I bake 4-5 times a week consistently (cookies, cakes, tarts, bread, etc), and I have never had any issues like the ones that they described. You should always start the mixer on the lowest setting and when the dry ingredients are mixed a bit (and you want to slowly add them in, not plop all the dry ingredients at once, for even mixing), then you can crank it up to 2. For cakes, you shouldn't be using higher speed setting, because you don't want to form too much gluten by working the batter too much. The higher setting is meant for bread kneading. The standing mixer also come with a splatter guard, just in case, but I never use that. The only thing I don't like about it? I don't know if it's dishwasher safe, and I hate handwashing it. :(

I bought this so I don't have to keep scraping down the bowl , and I love it I don't if it's just me or what but I made a Whipping Cream Pound Cake and the batter had a different texture to it , it seemed lighter and a little fluffier than usual. Now I have to get second one for my other kitchen aid now.
