Denise, Most dishwashers are hardwired, thus, they don't come with an electrical cord. The wiring connection box is located in the front area of the toe kick area. Please click on the "Installation Guide" on this product page for detailed information and illustrations.

Customer Reviews

Front Control Dishwasher in Black with Stainless Steel Tub, ProWash Cycle, 46 dBA is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 3030.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst purchase--consider the reviews of long-term owners Folks, I can only tell you my experience. About a week after installation, it broke, and a technician had to replace the sump pump. A week later we had water coming out onto our floor, and the technician had to come out again and replace the motor. It's now August, 17 months after purchase and the dishwasher is broken again. We've paid an outrageous cost for a dishwasher (and warranty) that has broken three times. Do consider reviews from people who have owned this dishwasher for more than a year. That's when you know whether or not the quality and value of the purchase merits the price. Buyer beware.

Have only had to use the normal setting as it always cleans everything perfectly, and everything comes out dry. Only complaint is touchy control panel, it is too easy to inadvertently turn on by leaning up against the counter, but it is easy to fix, either push the lockout button when not in use or just don't close the door tight. Just want to make sure you read all the instructions before you use it and make sure you use rinse agent to avoid streaks on items and interior. It cleans as great as any dishwasher we ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good! We are very happy with this KitchenAid dishwasher. I like the front controls, being able to see them while the washer is running. Washes dishes very well, plenty of room for dishes, pans, etc, and is very quiet. It has all the options we need, and is reasonably priced. The only minor item - I liked our previous silverware basket better, so I swapped them out. Our previous dishwasher was only 2 years old (Kenmore Elite), with hidden controls. Had problems with the controls from the very first month - lights flashing, beeping, washer would not start... we had SEVEN service calls in less than two years on a new washer! The Kenmore Elite was a lemon from the start. So far so good with this new Kitchen Aid, but time will be the true test!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product This product is very quiet, which is a definite plus for us. The only downside, which is also why I gave it 4 stars, instead of 5, is it doesn't have a top rack only wash. We have kids so we go through cups like crazy. It would've been great to wash those on a top rack only quick cycle, but instead, it wastes water by doing a regular wash. Outside of that, our dishes comes out clean and dry. If the dishwasher didn't have lights on the front, I wouldn't even notice it was on.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fantastic dishwasher - but don't waste your time getting it through Home Depot Essentially easy to assemble. However some of the connectivity parts needed were not recommended with the dishwasher. We didn't realize that until we pulled the old one out - that's how awesome our last kitchenaid dishwasher was!! It still had copper piping. The biggest problems encountered were the delivery from Home Depot and poor service by the delivery man. When contacted their corporate office received immediate response but could not get Ladissa to answer her phone for problem resolution. Instead she had the tech come back out to our property without permission or scheduling a time. Would not recommend Home Depot Delivery. Invest in the time to go get it yourself.

I like all of the optional settings "tough", "normal", etc. and the energy efficiency is great. It also holds A LOT more dishes than my last Kitchen Aid did. The only things I'm not totally thrilled about --although these are pretty small things relative to the awesome job the machine does in getting the dishes clean-- are: 1) the length of time of a cycle and 2) the controls on the front panel remind me of a space ship. They are not nearly as subtle as the prior model was and feel overly "modern". I do wish I had gotten the top control just for this reason.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Flush cabinet install gone wrong The dishwasher is working fine I just have a few things to get used to like the fact that my spatulas and tongs are too tall for the upper rack arms. You know the usual. My problem is with the installation. They didn't read the instructions and didn't adjust the height of the front or rear legs nor did they install it flush with the cabinet (there is plenty of depth)nor did they check for plumb or level. Not sure what they did to the insulation blanket. Will go back to THD sales person to ask and make a few calls. Don't have a contact number for the delivery/installation company only a fax number (old school I guess).

There are only 2 reasons I did not give this 5 stars. 1st- The controls on the exterior are sensitive. We have accidently started a cycle with a bump. Would have prefered the controls on top of the door like our old dishwasher. 2nd- Our old dishwasher had a countdown to when it was done. This does not so I never know how much longer till the cycle is done. Not big issues. They are more me then the product and features I did not consider until the dishwasher was installed. Clears great and I do love it.
