Professional 600 Series 6 qt. Stand Mixer in Blue Steel-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 4271.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed - no power and poor bearings! I've got a Professional 600 model and I've never been real fond of it. I t has in the past overheated and shut down. It would work again after sitting for a bit, but it's a bit tough to finish a job that way. Recently I was mixing a batch of dough for rolls and it just quit. I think a bearing went bad, it will revolve if I jiggle it but it stops again at the same spot on the next revolution. I only use it for heavy work like this maybe 8-12 times a year, so not a lot. Pretty disappointed, I've purchased the meat grinder, pasta maker, and sausage stuffer. Now what do I do? I'm going to look for something more substantial I guess. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Glory days are gone I owned a smaller KitchenAid standmixer for 25 years that made everything and anything and kept on working. When it was time to replace it I thought I'd "upgrade" to a bigger bowl. If this mixer is an example of the current KitchenAid quality then I shall switch brands. The FIRST time I used it I made my favorite bread recipe (that I had made literally hundreds of times with my old mixer) and it stopped. Period. Stopped running while I used the bread hook to knead the bread. Apparently it overheated in normal use. Now I must admit that while it was working it was doing a fantastic job of kneading but what good is a mixer that only runs a short while? Additionally, it sounded "weak" compared to my old one and the whip attachment just kind of flopped around, never seating well. I really miss my original KitchenAid. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Touch Me Not.... I have a classic Kitchenaid mixer I bought in 1990. I love it. Needs to be repaired now. I decided to buy another mixer and saw this model 600 on QVC. After I received it I read the instructions then made a loaf of bread and a batch of cookies. Dough hook had issues picking up all the flour from the side of the bowl. The flat beater did not touch the bottom of the bowl to cream the butter and sugar, I had to use a spatula on the sides of the bowl by hand. I made the necessary adjustments according to the instructions to raise the bowl but the flat beater still would not touch the bottom of the bowl like my classic 4.5 mixer does. I used the flat beater with the flex edge, the flex edge does not even touch the side of the bowl. I am very disappointed in this model. I went online and seen others have the same issues. Why does Kitchenaid still sell this with these issues? Making a larger flat beater and dough hook may resolve the issue. I have yet to try the wire whisk to whip egg whites... Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kitchen Aid I bought this product to make 200 cookies for my nephews baptism. I always wanted a kitchen aid. I struggle attaching the mixing bowl and I think they could have thought of something easier. Also although I washed the bowl and attachments I still got some metal residue on my cookie dough. Wasn't sure what that was about but it was concerning. Aside from that it got the job done. It has different speeds which I like. As I would love to eventually acquire the pasta machine or the grinder to crush corn for specific ingredients. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to buy a reliable mixer for home use. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet but powerful. I had been using a smaller KitchenAid mixer for several years to make cupcakes for family and friends. After reading reviews and getting personal recommendations from several home bakers, I choose the 6 QT Bowl Lift Mixer. It has been wonderful! I love being able to make large batches of frosting and NOT have powdered sugar all over the counter. It has been a joy to use during the busy graduation party and wedding season. My biggest hurdle was choosing a color. I took the safe route and went with graphite but the red mixer brought a smile to my face. Maybe next time! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Dream Come True The bowl to my Kitchen Aid stand mixer that I bought in the 70s was accidentally broken. After I sighed (I wanted to cry) my husband, who was the one who dropped it, surprised me with a gift card to purchase a new Kitchen Aid! We did a lot of shopping and comparing and settled on the Pro 600. One of our best decisions ever. I bake bread at least weekly and had gotten concerned about the stress it was putting on my old mixer, which didn't have a dough hook. This new machine is beyond my wildest dreams. My husband has promised me that he'll buy me another one in 50 years! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Practically a requirement for top level baking This is my second mixer throughout my lifetime, and I intend to have this one for as long as it will keep puttering. Convenient, attractive, and able to handle just about all of my culinary needs. My only concern is that it sometimes gets a little hot, and gives off a grease smell if I mix a tight dough, for something for a very long time. It hasn't lowered its ability, but I have the slightest concern that it might tank out on me without warning. Hopefully, it's not an issue, and, assuming that never happens, this is a fantastic and necessary piece of equipment. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
