Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by akc12 I liked it while it worked
I received this for Christmas 12/2013 and enjoyed using it for a year, but then it stopped working. The motor runs, but the beater does not turn. It is upsetting that such an expensive mixer had a problem in such a short time

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by IanW Disposable Product. Bad Kitchenaid Customer Service
Bought this product for the KitchenAid name--have since learned my lesson. Product lasted two years being used barely to half capacity, then the gears just stopped working. When I contacted Kitchenaid, they surprised me by really not caring an ounce. They would not help me an iota because it was beyond warranty--unless I'd shell out more money to them to fix it. They even tried to make is sound like it was my fault. They claimed that the 14 cup maximum is INCLUDING all ingredients, when their manual clearly says you can use recipes that call for 14 cups of flour (ASIDE from all the other ingredients). When I told them that, they quickly changed tact. Said I was probably leaving it running too long...I have another mixer in a comparable price-point that I use super-heavily, and have never had a problem with that in years. If you're looking for a product that isn't disposable--and if you'd like the company you're buying from to care about what happens to you even after the 1 year warranty--I'd recommend avoiding this product, and Kitchenaid.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Pam7 Product has great features, but...........
Very excited to finally own a Kitchen Aid mixer. However, I wish I had been able to try out the Artisan (which is smaller) and this one. It's very difficult to scrape the sides and I find that it doesn't mix that well at the very bottom of the bowl. In order to scrape the sides down, I have to remove the bowl and then put it back on. I can overlook that it weighs a ton, but am disappointed with the above. I don't use it to make frosting or filling, because it's just too large and is more bother than using my portable mixer. Oh well - kind of upset about the hundreds of $$$ I paid. I think it may NOT be the right machine for the average baker. Try the Artisan first.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dian This mixer completes my kitchen arsenal of tools and appliances!
After replacing all of my kitchen appliances with the latest equipment I knew I had just the place for a red Kitchen Aid 6 qt. mixer! I have been trying out recipes from the handouts included in the box - Thanks! So far, no flops! I enjoy having the mixer ready to go at a moment's notice! I have a bunch of attachments to put to work, and will in due time. Removing and cleaning the stainless steel mixing bowl is straightforward. The dough hook is a wonderful tool as well! I'd be pretty worn out after kneading by hand in comparison. I am inspired to do more cooking and baking using this fine mixer and attachments. I have no complaints at all.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beanie powerful mixer... gets the job done!
This is a very nice mixer, it has alot of power. Better for big jobs than small ones, but will do small ones. Some of the things that could use improving are: 1. the beater/wisk could be closer to the bottom of the bowl which would make it easier to do a recipe that might start with something small like two egg whites. 2. removing the bowl is a little cumbersome (I didn't get the flip up one because this one has more power) When you are making something thick it is sometimes difficult to remove the mixing attachment to remove the bowl. 3. you can NOT put the mixing attachments in the dishwasher. All in all I would definitely buy this again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Murkman Should have bought it sooner.
This replaced a 20 year old 4.5qt classic tilt head (which still works). The 6qt is big enough for anything I throw at it, including double batches of pizza dough. The power is great, barely even flinching when kneading the dough. The head slowly spins up to speed, preventing the flour from being thrown from the bowl when starting (or maybe it is that the bowl is so big the flour can't find a way out). The lift bowl feature is much more convenient than the tilt head. No matter how you look at this one, it is a winner. I'll update the post in 20 years, but I'm guessing I'll also need an update at 40 yrs (maybe one of my kids will provide that one).

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Eric A cooks tool -- overall very happy & would recommend.
This is a great kitchen tool for the experienced cook or one committed to become so. It takes a little bit of mechanical skill to operate -- particularly the grinder & accessory features. The plastic parts for the grinder are a little light weight for what is otherwise mostly a commercial weight machine. My plastic grinder screw cap failed in its first use but Kitchen Aid replaced it immediately. Still, those grinder parts should probably be all steel. If you put in the time and pay attention to the instructions & study them well before use and develop an understanding of how the machine operates & all the parts fit together you'll enjoy using it.

I love love my KitchenAid mixer I purchased I love to bake and this is the perfect mixer for my needs. I worked at a restaurant for many years my boss purchased a KitchenAid mixer for the bakery where I made pies and cakes. He purchased it in the 90's
I have made thousands and thousands of pies and cakes with this mixer. I have retired but I still go once every two weeks and make 40 to 50 pies which he freezes for later use. I am still using the same mixer he purchased. I would recommend KitchenAid to everyone it is a great and well built product I have enjoyed working with it. Thanks Peggy
