Rotor Slicer and Shredder Attachment for KitchenAid Stand Mixers is rated 2.1 out of 5 by 143.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Go back in time.........PLEASE!!!! My family has had A kitchenaid k5a since I was 10 yrs old--57 years ago. The rotor slicer then (as all the attachments) was just metal, no fancy wear-off/chip off white covering. I have had my own mixer for over 40 years now and about 8 years ago my family bought me the rotor slicer because I had spoken so highly of the ones I had growing up. This one is garbage! It has no slice size that works--FOR ANYTHING!!! I bake a LOT at Christmas and used my old one to chop walnuts-they came out perfectly! This one only minces them, or, even worse, turns them into powder. Also, it needs to be taken apart with vice pliers!!! Go back to the old design! PLEASE!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not at all what I expected I have several kitchaid products and this is the first that I've been disappointed with. Here are a couple issues that I have with the product: 1. The housing easily gets stained. 2. I washed the two attachments I used and the next day there were rust spots on them. 3. The locking mechanism of the attachments are difficult and unsafe to remove. One of my attachments requires pliers to remove, 4. Therer is no consistency of the slices that are made. This would be a product that I would return to the store. However, they will not accept a used item. I think Kitchenaid should seriously consider modifying this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Horrible slicer I got this for free when I bought my kitchenaid stand mixer. Used it first to spread some potatoes for hash browns. The shredding aspect of this actually works pretty well. Shredded a few potatoes quickly. Nothing stuck so clean up was a breeze. Hash browns came out perfectly. Decided to try the slicer to make some potato chips. This is where this product falls flat. It was absolutely horrible. My slices were all a different constantly and some of it ended up as mush. If you plan on using this for slicing, save yourself a few bucks and get a nice mandoline instead.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from oh mylanta! This is very painful for me to write. I have a big white 20 year old kitchenaid stand mixer that still works like a marine!!! I got attachments for it 10 years ago and have had nary a problem with the attachments or mixer, even with the age difference! I got a brand new kitchenaid stand mixer from one of my bosses, last year for Christmas. I got new attachments for it this last month. They Are Junk!!! I washed and dried the slicer tubes and one is rusted already. Then I went to use it to shred lettuce using three of the slicers and only got mushy lettuce. Yes it took a pair of pliers to get the hub loose from slicers tubes. The tube that rusted would not attach to the hub. I'm thinking of wasting more time by taking it back to the store and try another set?! Kitchenaid has always been such a good brand. What happened? You only get two stars out of 5. Embarrassing

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs better casing I bought this when I got my mixer about 15 years ago so I hope you've fixed the problem with the casing. Mine broke along time ago but I didn't use it much back then as I worked. I can still use it for soft items and it still works but not to slice anything like cucumbers or even celery. I don't work any more and I love to make pickles but this tears these things to pieces when you try to slice them.So I was looking on here to get a new slicer/shredder,but all I really need is the casing. I saw the reviews and though I'd add this in case it helps anyone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor product Right out of the box I was skeptical since the blades were dull. I could not have cut myself if I'd tried. I attempted to shred lettuce and cheese and slice cucumbers and carrots for a salad. The lettuce and cucumbers turned to mush, the carrots turned to awkward chunks, the cheese was shaved in small wide pieces. The cheese would work, but was not what I expected from something advertised as a shredder. In addition, food was wasted due to large pieces getting stuck between to blades and the housing unit which led to me taking it all apart between each food item. I am very disappointed in the product and will likely never use it again. Huge waste of money. I am surprised a brand like kitchen aide would keep their name on this without remedying all the many faults in the product and the disappointed customers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nothing but trouble My sister has had one of these for many years and has always had good comments about it so I got one a few years ago. The first time I used it, it was hard to get the shredder blade attached, and when I was done, I couldn't get it off. So this sat in the back of my pantry shelf ever since. I noticed it last week and decided to try again. I had to use pliers to get the shredder blade off and to attach a slicer blade. It was difficult to get it attached to the mixer, and to remove it when I was done. I have not been able to get the slicer blade off now. During the time this sat in the pantry, the plastic cracked where it attaches to the mixer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from KitchenAid Rotor Slicer/Shredder A few days ago I purchased the KitchenAid Rotor Slicer/Shredder. I used it today and was very disappointed. Shredding for coleslaw resulted in a chopped mess more like grated. I then tried slicing carrots and there were very few nice whole slices, mostly pieces, nothing like the picture. They should be sliced, you don't chop them with an axe. I called customer service and they said they would send another and I could return this one. This resulting product indicates faulty engineering. When I purchase a product with the KitchenAid name I expect it to perform to a higher standard and not mutilate my vegetables.
