Product Overview

Klean-Strip Green Safer Paint Thinner is a revolutionary formula with a milky-white color and can be used to thin any color of oil-based paint, stain, and varnish without affecting the color of the dried paint. Its low odor makes it great for indoor use, and it’s non-flammable and less harsh on the skin than regular paint thinner. It's effective at removing grease and dirt from metal, plastic, wood and painted surfaces so paint will adhere. It will also clean paint from nylon brushes, pans, buckets, rollers, stirring tools, foam applicators and spray equipment.

  • Non-toxic formula
  • Non-combustible
  • More gentle on skin than standard paint thinner
  • Low-VOC formula
  • No hazardous air pollutants
  • No ozone-depleting chemicals
  • Not for sale in California

It will not remove oil based paints from brushes. It is a milky substance so even if it were removing it (which it doesn't) you couldn't tell. It is thick, all most like a stripper and you when you think the brush is clean and try to wash away the residual product it just gums up in the water. I wasted 45.00 dollars in paint brushes.

This product may be useful, even for what it's intended for, but it's hard to tell due to the lousy instructions. If your market is people who expect a clear hydrophobic solvent, you have to spell out clearly how this can be used as a replacement. I found it difficult to use because it's white. I applied a white oil-based primer, then used this (white) product to clean my brush. It was impossible to tell when the primer was gone from the brush, because I was trying to clean it with something white. And then what? I am used to cleaning the solvent from the brush with soap and hot water, but when I did this, what appeared to be an oily goo came out from the depths of the bristles. Primer I didn't remove completely? The funky thinner? Who would know? And now, I have buckets of "used" white thinner in my shop. What do I do with them? Can I put them in with my solvent waste? Can I run it down the drain? There is no explanation of this anywhere on the container. Until this information is available, I'm going back to the stuff I know how to use.
