This was recommended to me by a friend to clean my old bike. It was literally like a magic potion along with two other things he suggested..even on its own, its just an amazing product that is so cheap compared to the expensive ones that are sold at bike stores.
I killed my bike with all the sand that was in there when I rode to the beach so many times and there was just so much junk on it that was impossible to get out. I tried cleaning that bike 3 times with dishwasher soap, detergent.. and a hose....which was so annoying and hard and took hours.
I am so happy this was suggested to me.

I left a brush soak in this product for 24 hours and it did nothing to help clean the brush. What is this stuff, water?

Given that people keep buying this stuff, it must be useful in some situations. But given that it doesn't work for the vast majority of tasks for which most of us buy mineral spirits, I don't think it should be marketed as MS (or even an MS substitute).
Do not use to thin oil-based varnishes or you may ruin your varnish. Don't use to clean a bare wood surface or it will raise the grain and make it rough and unsightly. Do not expect it to evaporate the way regular mineral spirits would (it'll leave an ugly residue if not fully removed). While given enough time (measured in hours), it might be partially effective at cleaning brushes or a small, fresh paint drip, but it also can turn your brush into a gunky mess.
On the other hand, with enough time and energy, perhaps you can use it as a solvent and/or cleaner in some very limited situations. For me, I was shocked at how utterly useless this stuff was.

This is like reviewing a paperweight. The bar is pretty low. Label is accurate, the bottle contains mineral spirits. Wish there was a non-toxic alternative but if you're doing poly or oil based and want to clean up, this is the right stuff.

The young gal in the paint dept recommended this product and it didn't do anything. Hardly removed any paint. A waste of time

I bought this by accident, not realizing that it is fundamentally different than "real" mineral spirits. It pours out like milk, does a poor job of degreasing, and I need to use another solvent to clean up the residue left behind. Also, this can't be re-used after letting the solids settle to the bottom of another container, so just how "green" is it? I can't even conceive of mixing this with oil, varnish, or paint for finish work... Stuff like this gives green products their bad reputation.

I made a mistake buying this mineral spirits. The color is white and so thick that cleaning up is rather messy. The manufacturer did a poor job displaying the difference between this and the regular clear type mineral spirits. If I had known about the differences, I would have never purchased this kind. The normal clear mineral spirits doesn't really smell any stronger than this kind either. I don't see the benefit of using this versus the normal type.

The thick white residue isn't a contaminant, that's normal for this product based on the "Appearance" field in the MSDS. This makes it USELESS for clean-up of brushes since it leaves a gloppy film behind despite being listed as suitable for "brushes and rollers" in the use guide.
DO NOT BUY THIS FOR CLEAN-UP
