Customer Questions & Answers

"Lightweight" handle?

One of the reviewers mentioned that the handle is made of plastic, can somebody please confirm that? The description only says that the handle is "lightweight", but it looks like aluminum. And for close to $21, it probably should be. Thanks!
Asked by: tunahead72
I have seen one in person at another retailer's store, it is definitely aluminum. It really gives an useful looking impression, and indeed was so lightweight I wanted one for my pouch that I wear 8 to 12 hours a day. But now looking at the reviews I guess looks are deceiving once again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Slips; Useless The strap is slippery polyurethane, so the wrench just spins and spins.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken piece of junk This thing broke trying to screw a 4 inch emt connector into a pvc female adaptor. The string holding the rubber strap together is lighter than the string holding together my walmart blue jeans.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Grip it Wrench looks nice in the tool box do not waste your money as it is useless even for opening jars. It simply slips so it has no mechanical advantage for any project requiring this larger size. Junk

Rated 2 out of 5 by from DIdn't work for me, might for you A friend and I tried to use this on a ~5" round metal part (a scooter variator). The strap was too narrow and the teeth aren't substantial enough, when combined with the cheap/thin plastic handle and lack of any real locking mechanism for the strap it was impossible to use to any effect. I give it 2 stars because it might work for other applications and it's inexpensive.
