Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first ammeter Diagnosing current demand on a replaced boiler control transformer. This ammeter worked well and consistently during the pump-start, ignition and flame-on steps so I could eliminate potential sources of overload during the sequence. My first ammeter: very easy to use out of the box. No wires to attach for reading amps, just hold the clamp around the wire in question. ( I used a fuse on the transformer output wire so as not to burn out the new transformer during testing.) HD has a nice variety of in-line fuses.
