I like that it has a NCV tester built in. This feature basically will tell you that the circuit is live by making a buzzing noise. Another nice feature is the magnet on the back, it is covered in felt so you won’t scratch the metal which is good for sticking to the side of your car. The only downside is the case. It would have been nice if they would have had an extra zipper pocket for the probe wires.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JohnS Specific tool with a specific purpose
The Klein tool brand is a nice value-oriented line. This clamp meter is no exception. Good design features such as: size/shape to fit your hand; stores probes when not in use; holds probes on tool when in use; lighted display and lighted LCD screen; magnetic back; case that holds all accessories; adaptable probe from point to clip.
The tool will do the basic AC Current measurements using the clamp. It does that well. It also has other measurement functions as listed in the description. All these functions (as much as I was able to test) worked well.
On occasion, I had to refer back to the manual to get a certain feature to work well, but the manual is well-written and easy to understand.
This meter is not True RMS, nor does it measure large DC current. As a result, I believe this tool has a specific purpose for an electrician. So it is not a full-function multi-meter.
While I think that this is a worthwhile meter if you primarily need to measure AC current with a clamp, for a few extra dollars you can step up to the next Klein model that will include True RMS and DC current. That, to me, seems better.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nate FOR the most serious DIYer
Are you the DIYer who opens the electrical panel and installs your own circuit breakers? Are you very analytical? Do you want to know where your electricity is going? This describes me, and I really like this clamp meter.
I always wanted to know how much power my appliances were using and now I know. My water heater draws about 1 amp, my furnace uses 7 amps. etc.. The only drawback is that the tool only shows instantaneous current readings and does not calculate amp hours (you need to estimate this).
Other nice features I wasn't expecting include: a back-lit display, a small LED flashlight, and a non-contact volt tester (is my outlet really off).
If someone at KLEIN TOOLS reads this review, this product would be awesome if you added a blue tooth connection to my phone for storing and plotting data.

This is a great multimeter and a perfect fit for my occasional electrical needs. I use the non contact voltage detector to quickly double check that I am not about to shock myself which is great. The temperature sensor is also a great add on feature.

Good Dependable Tool loaded with the most common features needed by the average do it yourself-er and then some. (no low impedance or trms, if that is an issue for you)
Clamp, proximity or use the included test leads. Also includes a nice carry case, thermocouple and batteries

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MIke Excellent Product
Overall, this is an excellent product. Noncontact amperage was tested against a known source and was very accurate. Noncontact voltage functioned perfectly. All contact (probe) measurements were also checked against known sources and found to be highly accurate. The thermocouple is also a handy feature for quick accurate temperature measurements, especially when you need the display seperate from the probe (say inside your oven or grill).
Another nice surprise on this machine is the quality packaging. The machine comes with a nice zipper pouch, complete with belt loop. Further, the machine and all of its accessories (probes, thermocouple, banana clips) all fit nicely into the pouch without having to cram anything. No more missing accessories! The backlight and magnetic back are also nice convenience features.
One drawback to this model is no true RMS readings. If you need this feature, you'll need to upgrade.
If you are in the market for a digital multimeter and don't absolutely require true RMS readings, its hard to imagine going wrong with this one.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Steve This is the most versatile meter I own
I don't have a lot of experience with clamp meters, this is only the second one I've owned. My first one was bought from Harbor Freight and it's garbage compared to this Klein meter. Apart from its accuracy the additional features I like are the backlite display and built-in work light, the rear magnetic mount, hidden behind a suede backing to prevent marring, and allows for hands-free readings. You won't appreciate this unless you've tried to hold a multimeter while taking a reading with two probes. The fixed side of the clamp also has a probe holder. This professional series auto-ranging clamp meter measures AC/DC Voltage, AC/DC current, resistance, capacitance, frequency, duty cycle and temperature. I can't imagine needing more features in a single meter. As with all clamp meters you can't measure voltage or amperage in an A/C electrical cord that includes a hot, neutral and ground wires since the hot and neutral wires cancel each other out. The solution is to add a line splitter. Klein offers one, model 69400, for under $20. I highly recommend this meter and am very pleased with this purchase.
