First, I would like address the negative comments. The comments about the meter not having features such as a continuity buzzer and that you can't select AC or DC voltage, etc. are wrong. When measuring voltage, press the SEL button to change from AC to DC. And when measuring continuity ohms, press the SEL button until you get to the buzzer for ohms. This does have a Auto Power Off. This written right on the face of the meter. I suggest reviewing the manual. It is available on Home Depot's website along with the meter. Refer to the pictures below also.
I also have the MM100 Klein mulitmeter. These are pro grade meters. I am a HVAC controls Tech and use these meters every week at work without a single problem. These meters may be overkill for the average homeowner. These are definitely high quality meters.

great meter really came in handy when my a/c unit failed. I was able test several electrical components in the air handler and turned out the run/start capacitor was bad, which I tested with this meter that has the selective option to also test a capacitor. a/c guy told me I need all these other things which would have run me at least $400, but with this neat easy to use meter I was only about $90 out of pocket including the meter and a capacitor

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AREALPRO DESERVES MORE THAN 3.2 STARS OUT OF 5
I DON'T LIKE TO SEE PEOPLE WRITE BAD REVIEWS ON A QUALITY PRODUCT. IF YOU HAVE HAD YOUR METER FOR ONLY 2 WEEKS AND USED A COUPLE TIMES AND IT GOES CRAZY, RETURN IT, I'M SURE HD WOULD EXCHANGE IT OR REFUND YOUR MONEY. SOMETIMES A BAD ONE GETS THROUGH BUT VERY RARELY. ALSO THE PROBES ARE 3.70 mm LONG WITH THE CAPS ON AND THEY ARE 19 mm LONG WITH THE CAPS OFF. I HAVE INCLUDED A FEW PHOTOS. WITH A LITTLE CARE I EXPECT MY METER TO LAST FOR MANY YEARS. HERE IS A TIP FROM A REAL PRO, WHEN PUTTING YOUR METER IN THE CASE PUT THE LEADS AND TEMP. SENSOR BEHIND THE METER AND PLACE A SMALL PIECE OF MICROFIBER CLOTH OVER THE DISPLAY SCREEN TO PREVENT SCRATCHING IT. THERE IS ALSO ENOUGH ROOM IN THE CASE FOR AN EXTRA SET OF BATTERIES. I'M ONLY GIVING 4 STARS FOR QUALITY SINCE I HAVE ONLY HAD THE METER 2 WEEKS AND IT DOES STILL NEED TO PROVE THAT IF IS DURABLE BUT I AM SURE THERE WON'T BE ANY PROBLEMS.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by ImaWorker 3 meter faults
I have owned this meter for a year and have found 3 faults. I would not purchase it again.
1. The continuity checker doesn't have audible feedback, you have to look at the scale to see if there is continuity.
2. The plastic selection dial has a pointer that can't be seen in dim light so you can't tell what you have selected (volts, amps, etc). I colored my pointer over with black magic marker.
3. There is one setting for AC/DC volts, the meter chooses which to use. My meter can't figure out whether to use AC or DC when measuring the car battery with the engine running and a weak battery (the meter 'hunts' first AC then DC and gives totally erroneous readings).

I've had better results from cheaper instruments. Too many options for simple A/C voltage. Hold function intermittent. No auto shut off.

The unit is designed for range of operations that should suit all but the folks in lab coats. It would be handy if Home Depot would carry accessories such as the line splitter in their stores however.
