Let me start by saying this unit works great if you use it correctly and follow the directions. It would at best identify two breakers side by side as the target but I'm fine with that...it's better than having to test all 50 breakers to find the one you need! I agree with the reviews about the on-off switch being much too sensitive, but there is an easy fix! Take a small o-ring and insert it under the lip of the switch, this secures it from being turned on in the tool bag but still allows regular operation (see photo attached) This idea cures the problem and makes this unit worth the money.

Klein tools are high quality but this circuit breaker finder could be improved. The on/off switch is way to touchy and a dental rubber band around the button does fix that problem. This tool does do what it's designed to do but, it could be a better tester if the accessories were also included and the transmitter functioned as an outlet tester with ground fault test button. If these items were added, I would give it a solid 5 stars.

Easy to use (follow the instructions... especially about letting the tool learn the panel.) Nice loud tone and bright green arrow... Signal was strong enough for the 1800 Sq Ft House I was working on. The price is right. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 stars is the annoying on-switch function. The switch to turn it on is very touchy. You barely bump it on anything the unit powers up. (In your tool bag)... A hard case would be nice or an On-Switch that has more resistance or one that you must hold down for a full one or two seconds. It functions this way during the off-cycle to power down.. You must hold it down to have it turn off, but you can turn it on by barely touching the switch...

The irritating thing is the stupid design of the on/off button. On the left of receiver is the on/off button, and any time it touches ANYTHING it turns on, and it will, so you can't put this thing in your bag, pocket, or truck, 'cause it will go off like your dog on a postman. All they need to do is have a positive on/off slide button; problem solved.

Though it does work as intended, the on off button is too sensitive. While in my tool caddy it will power on, would be better with a toggle. I will be returning this item.

I love this thing and so does my previous circuit breaker finder (my wife). Make sure you "train" it each time you search for a breaker. You turn off, if it was already on. Turn it on a few feet from the panel and then drag it down the rows of breakers, touching the plastic parts of the breakers. It may beep on the first one so ignore it. Keep it the same distance as you scan up and down the breaker rows. Once it beeps on a certain breaker, then shut that breaker off - the beeping should stop. Double breakers (2 switches in one breaker module) are a bit much for this thing. It will beep on the entire double breaker but not the one you need to shut off. You have a 50-50 chance of turning off the wrong one, but that is a small price to pay for not having to shut *all* of the breakers in the panel off, one at a time. Buy the alligator clips and screw-in socket plug option if you are working on lights and light switches. If there is no neutral wire in the light switch box, then you can cheat and connect the gator clips for the transmitter module to hot and ground - not very safe, but it works. The on-switch is a pain, but as someone else noted, you can pop an O-Ring around the Finder's power button to make it harder to activate in your tool bag. A rubber band works too.
