Set your meter to measure the lowest voltage possible. Hold one test lead in one hand and the other lead in your other hand. You will find the meter will show you have Voltage in your body. Answer:
Yes. It should measure most batteries correctly. I tried it on 1.5V AA & AAA, 9V and rechargeable 1.2V & 3.7V and all measured right.

On the packaging it says "Made in China". Not sure if it's referring to the whole set, but the tools are not individually labeled.

Answer:
Only test for continuity when the object is NOT in a powered circuit. Set your meter to read resistance. If the meter reads zero, there is continuity.

Answer:
There is a continuity setting on the dial, which results in a visual indication of continuity as well as a constant high-pitched tone. The tone isn't that loud, nor is the volume adjustable, but it's adequate unless you're in a very noisy environment.

You can use if for these purposes but not with the engine running. You could get a lead caught in the fan or fan belt.

Answer:
The meter would be fine for voltage, resistance, and continuity tests. You'd probably also want a separate DC clamp ammeter, since this meter is limited to 10A.
And in case you're wondering, the separate voltage sensor tool in the kit is strictly for 50-1000V AC.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Value I needed a multimeter to test the lines of my HVAC system. This test kit was hands down the best value at my local HD. The multimeter is rugged and high quality but you also get a non-contact voltage tester and a receptacle tester for what other brands charged for just the multimeter. For as many DIY projects I do, I'm not sure why I have not purchased this already. June 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Must-Have for DIYers This kit is an absolute must-have for anyone trying to do their own electrical work. As a novice with electric repairs and projects this set of tools has come in extremely handy and saved quite a few shocks and headaches. All three pieces are very well-made and easy to use. The non-contact tester and the plug tester are very straightforward to use, especially after a quick read through the included instruction book. The multimeter is extremely nice and the included manual really helps novices like me get the most out a very versatile tool. I'd highly recommend this kit to any homeowner April 11, 2016
