CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely Poor Design. Not For Professional Use I used this at work for the first time today. The problem I have with this punchdown tool is mostly with the position of the "lock" which stops the blade spring action in order for the screwdriver bits to be used. When you use it as a punchdown tool the lock is so much in the way that you will repeatedly lock out the spring preventing the punchdown blade from working. I'm not an lab engineer. I work in the field. Sometimes I'm under furniture or in another difficult to reach position and cannot always be perfectly seated at a desk in an ergonomically designed Lazy Boy chair sipping on a low fat latte while punching down stuff. Having the lock right under where my finger rests or my hand grips makes this tool pretty useless. it's as though this was never tested in a work environment. It is actually a hindrance to getting the job done. Another thought, who would need this? Can you see yourself in the middle of punching down a patch panel or 66 block or doing multiple jacks on a job and switching back and forth between screwdriver bits and the punchdown blade? What a waste of time. That's what the screwdriver in my tool pouch is for. And about the blade. It gets stuck in the teeth of the jacks and then the blade tends to twist free from the tool. It comes out. It's as though the blade is too thick for the jack sometimes requiring multiple hits before the wire is cut. I had buddy at work today offer me the use of his punchdown tools because he felt sorry for me. For me this tool fails both in design and performance. I wouldn't recommend it for a pro and definitely not for someone with limited experience doing punchdowns. It will only screw them up. I am returning this tomorrow and I advise you to pass on it. Get yourself a real punchdown tool and not this marketing department gimmick. April 20, 2014
