Customer Questions & Answers

Is the handle insulated for voltage?

Is the handle insulated for voltage?
Asked by: tinman
No, matter of fact there is a tag on the tool that warns you that it is " not insulated " and it WILL NOT protect against electrical shock. Side note, wear eye protection.

If you have a need for this 1/2 inch allan/hex head wrench you are probably assembling or dismantling something heavy duty. A few years ago at an estate auction I purchased what I can only described as a home made/built high security cabinet, but not what I would consider a "safe". Rather than weld the seems whomever, used 1/2 IN. by 1/2 IN. internal hex button-head cap screws. which looks like a carriage bolt with a 1/2 IN. allan/ hex in the center of the head. The reason I tell you this I have to take apart to move it, by myself. I originally tried to use my 1/2 IN. 18 volt drill, didn't have enough to even break them loose. This tool saved the day. First I sprayed everything with penetrating oil, let it sit for an hour, then using the short side of the tool I used the 6 IN. part like a ratchet handle, or with a 12 IN. crescent wrench and on occasion a love tap from a 1 lb. sledge. Once broke loose enough the 18 volt drill was able to finish removal. I know, a lot of words about such a basic/simplistic tool, but sometimes you just have to use what you have. The KLEIN 1/2 IN. hex 6 IN. T-handle just won my tool of the month.
