Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 45 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Solid Cable TV Tester I needed a tool that would help me determine which cable outlets I needed to hook up to the splitter. This did exactly what I wanted it to do. I was able to hook up the attachments on 4 different outlets and then went out the cable box and found the 4 wires that I needed to connect. Very simple and easy to use. A couple of side comments: - It doesn't appear that the battery is replaceable. Not sure how long the battery will last. - The remote units connect directly to the wall outlet. If you want to test it on a connected wire, you will need to buy F connectors. It would have been nice if a couple were in the package. Overall, I'm very pleased with this tester and happy with the purchase. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mapper Use this product all the time. Saves a lot of time being able to map out four rooms. Highly recommended June 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wire tester Works good for the price. Using it to retire a tv line through a tough wall, so far it's handy April 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked well and simple to use I purchased this to trace the built-in cables in our home. There are colored shunts, so you can trace multiple cables. Just place the colored shunts to the cables in your room(s), and connect the tester to the cables located at your television distribution box to trace which cable goes to which room. Also has connections at each end of the tester, if you wish to test continuity of a single cable. The only thing I don't like is that the batteries are not replaceable, and the package says the batteries are only good for five years. This design creates unnecessary garbage. I am accustomed to buying a tool, and it's good enough to pass down to my children. Despite this, I'd still recommend it. November 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to use Works as advertised, will read out as a color if you test a line that has a satellite dish on the other end so be careful it may not be the room you are testing for. one con is no removable battery, have to buy a new unit. February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job Great little tracer for the do it yourself person. It does the job. Ok price for the little bit I'll use it February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Best My son moved into a new house with layers of old coax. Without this tool it would have been almost impossible to sort out the mess.....especially since we found that the spliters being used would not support his new TV signal. What a time and money saver. December 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A HUGE timesaver I found myself having to re-wire a motorhome's TV and sound system. With two antennas (satellite and local), a CATV input and DVD and VHS tuners, I had a real spaghetti-farm to trace. After many hours of trying unsuccessfully to find out where all the wires went, and at the suggestion of a professional installer, I purchased this Klein wire tracer. The next day, the job was finished in an hour...and it worked! The only additional parts needed are four double-female F connectors to attach the remotes to the ends of the cables. I only had one, so the job took a bit longer as I could only trace one wire at a time. If you find yourself in a situation where you need to trace cables, this is the tool to have. June 19, 2015
