Recently I needed to help my nephew install a new TV Antenna system for his home, after he aa many others are doing, fired his cable provider. We needed to trace his internal coax cable distribution system, and the easiest way to do that was to use a circuit toner. I had some older telephone/data equipment that I could have retro-fitted, but decided to check out was was at Home Depot. I found this unit and talked with the assistant in that department, who had retired from a local cable provider. He recommended this unit, and I went with it. It made the job easy and worked great. It is not designed to work through a splitter unit, but I could live with that. For the money, it is a great unit.

I love the product, but dis appointed that product doesn't offer pieces sold separately, I lost the tips at work and had to repurchase the entire kit again. Over all give it a 10 for usage and dependability.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by OutWayneCableGuy A MUST HAVE for any cable tech
Simple to use; eliminates the need to tone outlets out individually & therefore eliminating the need to make multiple trips in & out of the house ( and/or underneath a house in a crawlspace); It's a must have for anyone in the cable/satellite field.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by DarkfireVA I replaced my batteries, not throwing it away like others...
True it tells you that you can't replace batteries, but its a nice device. So like usual I didn't follow instructions so I popped it open, and replaced the 2xCR2032 batteries and glued it back together with a $3.25 Loctite Plastics Bonding System.

Even though the product states that you cannot replace the batteries, you infact can. You simple pry the casing open, and you will find that the unit uses two CR2032 batteries.
