We traveled from NC to NV and back and this cooler kept everything refrigerator cold the whole trip. We used it in our hotel room with an optional power converter.

Had one I purchased around 1983. It finally quit. So I purchased another. Hope it lasts a long time....as the last one did.

We live a long distance from, "reasonable" grocery shopping. This cooler keeps the perishable items cool for the long trip home without the hassle of melting ice.

The cooler is very nice looking and has a lot of room. I am disappointed on the cooler because of how it does not get cold........... cold. It just gets a little cold. I had the cooler dial turned all the way to the blue dot. I wish it had a temperature control to get it to cold .....cold. Nice unit but does not get items really cold..

Product arrived in factory sealed carton but was missing two parts: 1. 12v power cord, 2. internal shelf divider. Home Depot customer service did contact the manufacturer to obtain the missing parts. Manufacturer response was extremely slow. Missing parts were eventually received. While the product does function as a cooler, the overall quality of materials and assembly is poor. It is not likely that the product will provide long term service, especially during the hot summers along the Gulf Coast.

Basically, as advertised. Versatile, pre-cool in house with AC adaptor then transfer to car for transporting to destination. Would be better if you could select temperature to cool to. It goes about 40 degrees under outside temperature. We have our house at 70 so first night it cooled cooler to 30 degrees and cans of soda started to freeze. Also used at a cottage outside where temp was 95 therefore only cooled soda to 55. So using in 75-90 degree external temp is a little limiting. But does work as advertised. AC adaptor is a must in my opinion and is sort of pricey.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TennesseeTraveller Excellent cooling (or heating) power and convenient capacity!
Replaced our aging worn-out Rubbermaid with the Koolatron P85. Dimensions conveniently hold 2L Coke bottles upright, plus all the food we wanted to bring to the beach. Placed frozen meals in bottom, refrigerated foods on top. Frozen meals still frozen after 14 hour drive.
Be sure to plug in with arrow pointing to blue dot for cold. Pointed to red by mistake, and quickly proved how HOT interior could get. (not a feature we use, but clearly very powerful for those who need this).
