55 Gal. Rain Barrel is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ridiculous Warranty We installed this attractive rain barrel in the fall of 2014. I discovered a huge crack in the bottom this summer, after noticing there was never any water in it. The warranty is only for 90 days, even though the description says "UV-resistant design will not chip, crack or fade with normal use". If that were really the case, it should have an unlimited warranty. So we paid $100 for something that never got used. Very unhappy!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks like a sieve Looked like a great barrel and we really liked the design with the wide, stable footprint. After delivery we were surprised to see that the spigot is not metal, but plastic and the seal around it leaked badly, literally shooting water out in a stream, so this barrel is pretty useless. Needless to say, we're returning it. I wasted a lot of time waiting for this and setting it up. But at least Home Depot has an excellent no-hassle return policy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love them I put them out to collect overflow from my other rain barrel before I had them ready, (a LOT of rain) but I do like the product very much. When I empty them, planning to put cement in the bottom to 1) add weight to prevent wind blowing them away 2) the fill the botton below the faucett to prevent sludge build up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Rain Barrel As advertised. Good value for a quality product. Separately purchased a flexible drain pipe. Works well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ordered 2, haven't installed either yet... Unpacked 1, does not set flat on bottom (on concrete) like a chair with uneven legs. Pea gravel install probably ok, would be disappointed if it were set on had surface like pavers. Product appearance is nice. Don't know how it will hold up in the sun of the Southwest desert. Thus far I think this rain barrel is overpriced. Compare it to a plastic kayak and you be the judge.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from ATTRACTIVE JUNK I bought two of these in the summer of 2013 based on the claim that they do not need to be drained over the winter. They made it through one winter, but this year both developed cracks that completely empty the barrel. Not worth the expense for a single year of use. They do look nice, however.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just received via special order I don't have the rain barrel connected to a gutter yet but don't anticipate any problems. Because you can't actually see the product before ordering, it's so much nicer than a fake plastic barrel! It's a med. sand color with brick red flecks (not as dark as pictured) and taupe colors that look like stone. The employees were all as impressed as I was at the pick up desk. Thought has gone into a drain plug that's lower than the faucet for draining/cleaning all water. Functional art is always a plus for me! I can't give 5 stars until it's proven but I'm betting it'll work as intended or we can make it so.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Attractive and functional! I chose this rain barrel for its looks, function, and positive reviews. Others with flat backs were reviewed as bulging out when full and making the lid no longer fit snugly. This one is round and sturdy, with a drain at the bottom, an overflow drain pipe at the top back, and the front lower spigot high enough off the ground to easily access. The only reason I didn't give it all "Excellent" ratings was because the spigot is plastic and I worry about how durable it is over time. One of the complaints from others was that the back upper overflow drain pipe did not fit any hoses they could find, but I found the perfect solution by using a 6' washing machine corrugated drain hose that fit perfectly. I then cut it to the proper length to slide down into my existing gutter ground drain pipe. For the top to let rain in from my existing gutter downspout, I cut the downspout with a hack saw, screwed on a Flexgrate Downspout debris diverter (see picture) that allows the water to pass through into the barrel, but filters out most of the larger debris. In order to avoid the debris from falling on top of the rain barrel, I cut up a gallon size plastic jug and screwed it to the diverter (see picture) that makes the debris fall off to the side of the barrel. I haven't actually seen how well all this will work, but it's supposed to rain the day after tomorrow, so if I can I'll update this later.
