We have a koolatron cooler and the original adapter burned out after about a year of somewhat heavy use. We called Koolatron and found it had only a 30 day warranty and they wanted an arm and a leg for a replacement so i searched the internet and found this itme from "The Depot" at a great price. Got it quickly and it works fine. I would recommend giving the device some down time as it tends to get a little hot and I am sure oveheating is what did our old one in. It is a Koolatron not an OEM as you often find replacement adapters, etc that are off brand and not quite as good. .

Excellent piece of equipment to keep almost any 12V DC portable warmer/cooler working when not in the car/truck. Just use the normal 12V car plug from your warmer/cooler when you are in the motel room or if you have it already packed and ready to go so no time lost when you leave! Check the amperage and voltage that your piece equipment requires BEFORE plugging it in to make sure the adapter is powerful enough.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by hauntedenthusiasts Item is a must if travelling overnight or stopping vehicle.
When we first purchased our Koolatron fridge, we also bought the device that shuts the fridge off if the battery level drops to a dangerous level. We had hoped the battery in our 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan would keep the fridge going at least a good portion of the night after stopping at motels on our way to Florida, but the safety device shut the fridge off within the first hour of having the van off. This makes this adapter extremely important if you plan to stop overnight and want to keep your fridge cold/running. With the adapter we were able to take the fridge into the hotels with us, plug it in, and keep the fridge going. A must if you plan to keep the fridge running while having the vehicle off more than an hour. We saved a ton of money eating out of the fridge on the way to Florida and having lunch meats and cheese from home saved us a ton living out of our hotel room.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ssw56 has worked very well so far.
Took on a 3500 mile trip and worked like a charm.
Dissapointing that I had to buy a separate AC adapter which in my opinion should be part of the system since it just makes sense that you will need to move the cooler out of the car and plug it to wall outlet when you stop on trips. Other than that, I have no complaints.

Worked very well. You do have to be very careful that the connection between the socket, into which the car adaptor plug fits, and the adaptor is tight. It can look plugged in but the fan doesn't work to cool things. The outlet was high on the wall so the connector was hanging. Once we put it on the shelf instead of letting it dangle it was absolutely fine.

The power adapter is a very useful add-on to the cooler and I definitely recommend it. However, the plug is not designed so that the contacts meet automatically - i.e., one "right: way to plug it in. We found that we had to be careful to line the contacts up and then it worked beautifully.
