I've been looking for an original manufacturer's part because of someone's negative review on Korky. Because I was unable to find original manufacturer's part in my area, I was desperate and decided to try Korky anyways. As it turned out, Korky does produce quality replacement parts and probably better than the original. When I did install the seal, I carefully checked the enclosure on both sides of the valve to ensure there are no obstacles, especially calcium build up from the hard water. A month has passed and no signs of phantom leaks. Good luck.

Didn't seal 100%. The OEM didnt last very long before it developed blisters.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JohnP Fixed breaking my toilet handles.
For the past 2 years, toilet handles were not lasting. The expensive metal ones were breaking too. Replace this valve seal and now the handle works fine now without breaking. After awhile the gasket gets a little gummy and sticks to the flange. Once replaced, no more sticking, no more breaking handles.

It is my belief that this replacement will out last the standard part by a considerable margin.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dan Better than the factory part and easily more available.
The factory (American Standard) seal had a "bump" on the seal surface, so it probably leaked from day one...went looking for American Standard part, couldn't find it stocked...bought the Korky part. It is better made and cheaper to boot.

This gasket apparently solved an absurd, unlikely problem I'd been battling on my two new American Standard toilets since early 2015: the flush valve gaskets started leaking after several months because they gradually absorbed water(!), eventually forming blisters which lifted sections of the gasket until the water-tight seal was broken-- leading to "ghost flushes." Chlorine from using chlorine tablets in the tank (which I really like) may have caused or at least aggravated the gasket blistering. Soon after I switched to chlorine dispensing systems that dispense into the bowl (not the tank), I saw that Korky is now making the exact same unique gasket, apparently as of second half 2015. Korky advertises it as "chlorine resistant", and it's been leak proof so far. I may eventually return to using the tablets, which are simpler, cheaper and, I think, stronger than the dispensing system refills. Thanks to Korky, I can now worry about more important things than leaking toilet flush valves.

Although it says it is compatible, it is not. Waste of my time and money as I already threw out the packaging.
