Will this work on American Standard toilet 4260????

Asked by: BoscoBear
I don't know what style of flush valve is in that model, but google "204120832" and if that flush valve looks like what you have, then it will fit. This red seal replaces the factory blue seal.

However, on this toilet you need to buy the American Standard flush kit that comes with the same seal and a o'ring that goes on top of the kit. The toilet has a flaw and these parts only last about 2 years. Mine lasted 2.5 years and started to seep. The replacement flush kit that Bond at SM Parkway store ordered for me did the job fine. I about four kits to have on hand. Korky should try to supply that o'ring to, then it would be a great fix for this toilet. Hope this helps. Thanks for the feedback.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stops the leak I've been looking for an original manufacturer's part because of someone's negative review on Korky. Because I was unable to find original manufacturer's part in my area, I was desperate and decided to try Korky anyways. As it turned out, Korky does produce quality replacement parts and probably better than the original. When I did install the seal, I carefully checked the enclosure on both sides of the valve to ensure there are no obstacles, especially calcium build up from the hard water. A month has passed and no signs of phantom leaks. Good luck.

After I applied it, the toilet still leaked. On the web I found that you're supposed to call American Standard, and they'll send you a Seal and O-ring for free (10 year warranty). The HD product didn't contain the O-ring, which may be the problem.

Quick and easy fix to the American Standard line of toilets leaking water from the reservoir into the waste area. Took less than 5 minutes to turn the water off, flush, and replace the O-ring seal in the water tank. Factory original seal lasted about three years or so. Not bad for the 'main' toilet in the house.

Valve was correct product, but took a little adjusting before the leak stopped. The previous valve, installed at installation of the new toilet had developed a bubble inside it which forced water to leak continuously. Not sure who manufactured that product, but will keep an eye on this problem for future reference.

A.S. designs it so it is very easy to replace. It stopped the leak for about 6 hours. Then it started leaking again. I tried resetting it, but nothing worked. I pulled the packaging out the trash and took it back to Home Depot. I ordered the Champion replacement on line. I've seen from other reviews that the o'ring that Champion provides is also usually needed. So it is now taking Home Depot a week to deliver (to the store) the Champion package - which has both the seal AND the o'ring AND is more than a dollar cheaper than this seal (which didn't seal)! I've also read where others have had problems with the Champion seal, although mine did not blister or separate and did last over 4 years. However, 4 years is better than 6 hours and hopefully I'll get another 4 years out of the new one! Too bad Home Depot won't stock the oem product as I am now waiting for Home Depot to deliver while my toilet is out of commission because of a $4 seal. I love the Champion toilet, but this seal issue is ridiculous.
