The factory (American Standard) seal had a "bump" on the seal surface, so it probably leaked from day one...went looking for American Standard part, couldn't find it stocked...bought the Korky part. It is better made and cheaper to boot.

It is my belief that this replacement will out last the standard part by a considerable margin.

This gasket apparently solved an absurd, unlikely problem I'd been battling on my two new American Standard toilets since early 2015: the flush valve gaskets started leaking after several months because they gradually absorbed water(!), eventually forming blisters which lifted sections of the gasket until the water-tight seal was broken-- leading to "ghost flushes." Chlorine from using chlorine tablets in the tank (which I really like) may have caused or at least aggravated the gasket blistering. Soon after I switched to chlorine dispensing systems that dispense into the bowl (not the tank), I saw that Korky is now making the exact same unique gasket, apparently as of second half 2015. Korky advertises it as "chlorine resistant", and it's been leak proof so far. I may eventually return to using the tablets, which are simpler, cheaper and, I think, stronger than the dispensing system refills. Thanks to Korky, I can now worry about more important things than leaking toilet flush valves.

Although it says it is compatible, it is not. Waste of my time and money as I already threw out the packaging.

It was easy to install and a fair price, but it is now leaking again after only using it about three weeks. It doesn't leak nearly as much as the old one I replaced, but it is still wasting water. I'd love to return it, but threw away the packaging after I replaced the seal.

Used this replacement on my toilet and it stopped it from running, for a couple weeks. Its running again now. I will probably try to get my hands on a factory replacement to see if it makes a difference. The fact that it worked for a couple weeks, leads me to believe the seal was the problem though.
