Bought this filter to improve the taste of Phoenix municipal water. I wanted a decent filter at a reasonable cost that was easy to install. This filter checked all those boxes. Plus it is great to not have to deal with a dedicated faucet (as in an RO system). Don't believe the reviews that say the fittings are cheap and/or that they leak. Just take your time, follow the directions, be sure you insert all the hose ends fully into the connectors, and all will be well. In five months of regular use, no leaks, and the filter gauge indicates the filters are only about 1/3 through their lives. Couldn't be happier.

Use a TDS Meter, we have really bad water measured .0389 PPM
compared with Arctic water at .0018 and Distilled water at .0000 with the same meter
this was after just 3 weeks and the meter indicator only had moved 1 place... High Priced Junk!!!

I am echoing the review that faulted the plastic fittings for leaking. I gave it a shot, but the male fitting kept leaking.

I installed two of these filters, one in my house and one in my sons apartment. Took all of ten minutes to install each. When my son moved I transferred his to his new apartment.
I set mine up before the water supply to the refrigerator. This eliminated the need for a dedicated 'refrigerator' filter which saved me about $100 per year for those filters. Still working on the originally installed cartridges after one year. My son needs to replace his every 3 or 4 months due to the dirty water supply in his building in NYC, but at least he is getting clean water now.

The principle of the Kube is solid and a great idea, but I was unable to install it. I think because they used plastic adapters instead of metal. When I fit the adapter on the water valve, water drips from beneath the fitting. The adapter was an exact fit, the threads stayed intact, and I tightened it well. I even had them send me a new adapter. When I called customer service, all the guy could tell me is that the adapter should work. No help whatsoever. Because kinetico chose to use non-standard fittings, it is impossible to replace the parts with better quality parts. I re-hooked up the faucet line ... no drips. It has to be a poorly designed adapter. Maybe I have a quirky valve, but everything works fine when I disconnect the Kube. I hope others have better luck. I love the idea of this thing and am very disappointed that it doesn't work. I spent nearly a week trying to get it to work for that reason.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by R1ceBurner Easy install if you have the right parts
Installing Kube should take maybe an hour tops. If you have all the right parts. What should have been a quick install, turned out to be a day long ordeal for me.
I followed the instructions and made all connections then turned on water to let it run for the recommended length of time to flush carbon sediment from the filters. This ended up clogging my faucet and stopped water flow completely because small bits of the carbon stopped up a part of the actual faucet connection. I had to replace my kitchen faucet...
To avoid this I highly recommend not making the final connection (from Kube to faucet) until you turn on the water and let it run for a few minutes into a bucket or the sink. Then make the connection once the water runs clear.
Tubing: used a new blade and split it in half. This gave me enough tubing to move the unit as needed. When you connect the tubing, push in and make sure it is snug. You should feel it click. If it is not snug water WILL squirt from the fitting.
Overall we like the Kube, water is clear and tastes better. Install is easy and shouldn't take long. We were able to also run the ice maker water line after the Kube, so we now have filtered water for our ice machine.

Just had my plumber install, so I can't comment on how much of a diy project this is. So far I love this water filter! The water pressure on cold has a very minimal drop-barely even noticeable. The water is very clean and clear. The filters are easy to change (I haven't changed them yet, but watched my plumber install). No leaks so far. I previously had the pur faucet mount and the water looks and tastes better with the Kube. Plus, the water comes out so much faster now!!
