I was skeptical about buying a $250 undersink water filter that has $80 replacement cartridges. I used to have another undersink filter that had its own spigot -- Home Depot and other hardware stores have mostly this kind, where the spigot is very thin and sends out filtered water very slowly around half a gallon per minute. I wanted something faster and this is it. The instructions indicate that the water flow is 1.5 gallons per minute. I have installed my unit and can confirm this -- there is no noticeable difference between the water flow pre-filter and with-filter, which means I'm not going to be waiting until the end of time for a pot to boil pasta in. The water has a definitely cleaner taste (I live in the city and though the water is safe to drink it has that city-water-taste). Installation was a breeze. For a filter it's pretty big -- bigger than other two-stage filters but small than reverse osmosis filters -- but honestly what were you planning on doing with your undersink space, anyway? Switching from filtered water to regular water (e.g., if I just want to wash dishes) is very easy to do. Filtered water flows through the main cold tap of the faucet, which means I can still use the fourth hole on the sink for the sprayer. Also, I was looking for a device that would conform to NSF qualifications; on the Kube's box and in the included literature it says it meets NSF / ANSI standards 42, 53, and 372 (most filters only conform to 42 and 53), and CSA B483.1. Overall I'm actually very satisfied with this!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LovemyKube Best Tasting Water!
My husband and I have pretty much tried every kind of water filter out there...fridge pitcher, water cooler, individual water bottles, etc. Kube is by far the best tasting, most convenient and economical option. The filters last a very long time and there is a monitor at the top of the system that tracks the filter life. We installed our Kube in December and we still have plenty of filter life left (the manufacturer claims 6-12 months of filter life, so we are hoping for 12. So far, so good!). Instead of giving our kids disposable water bottles for on the go, we now fill re-usable bottles with Kube water. It is also a great option for cooking b/c of how fast the flow is from our kitchen faucet. One Brita pitcher's worth of water was never enough to even boil one pot of pasta! Now we can use Kube water for everything! Although I didn't personally install it, my husband said it was very easy and had no issues. We definitely love our Kube and are happy with our purchase!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Surfer51 I made the right choice for value as well as performance
Ok let me explain why my high degree of ratings, not being a review writer, just a satisfied user.
I did my research before purchasing Kube. It was good looking and would do exactly what I needed it to do for my water. And best of all it was something my wife would not object to under her sink since it is a good looking unit.
It was a snap to install in less then five minutes. And then of course the few minutes it took to flush initially the charcoal filters.
The two fittings were foolproof. i have done some plumbing and had trouble with metal fittings leaking in the past when installing refrigerator water filters.
Kubes plastic line and plastic fittings were incredibly simple and simply did not leak at all the first time I turned the water on.
Instead of measuring the plastic line I just cut it in half for two equal lengths of line. The excess under the cabinet coiled itself in the back of the unit so it made no difference.
Trust me this unit is very easy for anyone who can read to install, even if you have never done any plumbing. My wife could have installed it :-).
My wife and I have been paying over $100.00 a month for bottled water. Now the Kube will pay for itself in a few months and then actually start saving us money! A no brainer.
We tested the water with a litmus paper and it came in as alkaline, what we want for health.
The alkalinity may because of our water source...dunno.
The water tasted really clean to us in comparison to the bottled water we have been drinking and it actually seemed to be clearer.
I was concerned about the water flow if I were to add a filter to my sink. This unit showed no impairment to water flow after installation, nothing changed as far as the flow was concerned.
The manufacturer's sign up program for obtaining new filter cartridges at a discount make this unit even more appealing to my wife and i.
And of course the fact that a portion of the proceeds goes to a great organization that helps provide clean water to others around the world.
(There is another review that negatively claims the water tasted bad from this unit. I think it possibly is from a rival competitor, because there is no way charcoal filters can make water taste bad, not possible unless they are used way beyond their rated life span.)
In conclusion this product is well thought out and has made it very easy to install new filters when it is time. No tools needed to replace filters.
I had to go purchase it and install it myself...LOL!
Couldn't get my wife to do it...

First of all, I tried to like this product, I really did. As Los Angeles residents, my wife and I we aren't satisfied with the tap water. As a result, we opted for Sparklets water delivery. However, we are tired of paying high prices for it. We tried an under the sink osmosis product with little installation success. It leaked. After some online research we found the Kube and thought it could be what we were looking for. The installation was a snap! The product itself is attractive. The filters are large and seemed more than capable to filter water. According to the company, it is NSF certified, So why not give it a try? The taste of the water turned out to be a huge let down. We were not pleased with it at all. Better tasting coffee? I think not. We had it for about 3 weeks thinking, perhaps, the bad taste would go away. We followed the instalation instructions as directed. But it still tasted awful. So we bought a water tester. The lower the number, the better the quality of the water. The Kube did not perform as we had hoped. We compared Sparklets (11), tap (480), and Kube water (367) even our $20 Brita pitcher (215) was better. Perhaps our expectations were too high. For the money we paid ($250), we were hoping for better water.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SailingSadInNH Easy to instal, even for this hapless dad
We live in a 230 year old farm house in coastal New Hampshire with a well that's probably almost as old. We suffer from hard water with a heavy metallic after taste & traces of arsenic (as identified in a recent water survey; most likely the result of 200 years of farming).
We recently purchased the Kube water filter. Extremely easy to install using only a small crescent wrench & a box cutter (to trim the water hose). From start to finish it took about 20 minutes to set up.
I've only had it set up for about 48 hours so we're still deciding if it was worth the investment. But I can already tell you that after 24 hours I did a home water quality test & there was ZERO traces of arsenic.
With that alone I am already satisfied.
This was definitely the more expensive option. But the ease if installation was well worth the extra money.
We would highly recommend the Kube water filter.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Benz08 Easy install and water is great
I bought this because of no drill and less maintenance. I have no experience in plumbing but I was able to install it with a little help. Can be connected straight from the cold water line but I decided to get a splitter and accessory filter faucet so I dont have to mind turning it off when washing the dishes. It is a good buy!

Extremely easy install. And does not take up very much space. Filters are easy to replace as well.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by KubeReview Only two tools required
Very easy to install and use, however you need to read the manual because the video is missing a step. Not sure if Kube removes what it claims, because the water was not tested to verify the claim. Kube is better than other filtration systems because: a filtered pitcher produces a limited amount of water verses unlimited with Kube; faucet filters do not fit all faucets unlike Kube which doesn't use the faucet; and other countertop systems require an additional hole drilled in the countertop while the Kube attaches directly to the water/faucet lines and uses no electricity. There will be no immediate cost savings, because I purchased this as a gift for my son and his family; he compared Kube water with his bottled water and he says the Kube has a carbon after taste which might disappear over time; so for now he’ll continue to purchase bottled water, although others in the household will use the Kube. I didn't notice the taste difference.
