Answer:
Hi Al,
The 3.5 cu. ft. 3/4 HP 120-Volt Motor Belt Drive Cement Mixer (350WSB) draws roughly 8 amps when in use allowing it to be powered by most home outlets without issue. The Kushlan 3.5 cu. ft. 3/4 HP 120-Volt Motor Direct Drive Cement Mixer (350DD) is the more current model, and it uses a similar motor with the same amperage draw. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by PIECE OF JUNK THE KUSHLAN MIXER IS A PIECE OF JUNK. I BOUGHT THIS PRODUCT AND HAVE MIXED A TOTAL OF 8 BAGS OF PREMIXED CONCRETE IN IT. IT HAS BROKEN TWICE. I BOUGHT IT MIXED 2 BAGS OF CONCRETE IN IT...PUT IT AWAY FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND THEN USED IT AND MIXED 5 BAGS OF CONCRETE AND IT BROKE. I CALLED KUSHLAN AND TOLD THEM THE PULLEY BROKE (MADE OF CHEAP POT METAL) AND TOLD THEM I ONLY HAD 7 BAGS PUT THROUGH IT....THEY DIDNT CARE AND CHARGED ME FOR A NEW PULLEY. I PUT NEW PULLEY ON AND BROKE RIGHT AWAY. JUNK..DON'T BUY IT.. December 6, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Does not mix well I mixed 12 bags and tried different methods to try and eliminate the mix sticking to the bottom. I have used several different portable mixers over the past 40 years. There are only two blades in this mixer, would have been better if were 3.. It is easy to assemble, about 5-7 minutes. It is low enough to the ground that puts no strain on your back. I placed two saw horses with a piece of 1/2" plywood as a makeshift table to assist. Wheeled up next to it and cut the bags right at the edge of the table. It moves around and dumps great. I had to stop the mixer too often to scrape the mix at the bottom. A better design would have made the drum stationary and the blades rotate to scrape the mix from the bottom. March 25, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Need better Design The Idea of a Wheel Barrel cement mixer is GREAT That's why I bought it. But I found two flaws in its design one it need a thrust bearing my unit no matter how much I grease it it still squeaks. Second Flaw is the mix blades do not touch the cement mix fully on 1/2 loads. on level ground you have to put a 4 x 4 under the back leg to fully use the mixing blades so it is not just spinning at the bottom of the drum. Be sure to put water in first otherwise it will stick to the bottom To help I did modify a shovel with a 90 degree bend to scrap the bottom of the drum and help remove materail PS My Sister also used this mixer to mix up her garden planting soil August 2, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Labor Saver The product so far has performed admirably. I intentionally waited to submit a review until after use. I have mixed over 12 tons of concrete and mortar since purchase. The time saved in labor has paid for the purchase many times by now. Maintenance is simple, though lubrication to the flywheel is needed and not suggested. I would have liked to see slightly sturdier construction of the frame(personal opinion) , but I have not had a problem yet. The plastic drum is quite sturdy and rinses clean. If any concrete dries, it tends to break away on future mixes. I would recommend this product to anyone who works with concrete or mortar on a small to moderate scale. March 1, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The product exceeds my expectations. I am very happy with every aspect of this purchase. The Kushlan Wsb 3/4 HP Electric Concrete Mixer was delivered by truck and was practically completely assembled. I only had to attach the handles and the motor and gearing cover. I plan to use the mixer to condition my raised bed garden soil by blending the hard clay native soil with composted grass clippings and leaves to make my own potting soil. I will also be using it for the purpose it was designed for pouring concrete into forms for paving bricks, stepping stones, etc. The unit is extremely well made and sturdy and should give many years of service. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worth it I used this last night for the first time. I mixed 77 bags of 80lbs for an 8 x 16 pad. Had no problems except the retaning ring for the drum axel slid off from vibration. Took me 2 mins to put back on. It is very quiet as I poured thru the night (started at 10pm)and have neighbors on either side. They never knew I did so. I put the water in first for both bags. Then poured the 1st bag in fairly fast. Let it mix for 1 minute. Put 2nd bag in slower; otherwise it leaves dry clumps and sticks to mixer more. Let second bag mix for 3 mins. Moves around similar to a wheelbarrow. July 15, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This mixer is just what . I've had this Kushlan electric cement mixer less than a week an already mixed 45 premix bags by myself- its a real pleasure to use. Makes mixing concrete easy! A rock solid compact design and just the right height. Wheel barrow design means I can position the mixer, cut the premix bag open on the back of my pickup truck, and dump the dry mix directly into the mixer without lifting the 80 lb bag. Then I add water, mix and dump right into the footing holes. Easy and no back strain... I can't ask for anything more. Oh, and its really easy to clean, too. Thanks, Kushlan! June 26, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I had my doubts.... The hardest part of using this mixer is just getting one. I bought 60 lb bags of Quikrete on sale....and at 3 bags to the load, it made short notice of the work. The work itself is a bit grueling - but at least the mixing part was as easy as easy gets. Pour in the water. Add the mix. Wait about 5 minutes. And dump. I bought the unit fully assembled. The handles could be a bit more stable - but definitely not a show stopper. I didn't notice any motor strain, nor were there any leaks or inadequacies in the frame work. One thing to note is that the small footprint allows for easy movement in tight places. All in all, I poured six 12ft x 1.5ft x 8" concrete runners for a fairly large home workshop using one form and doing one per day. Each runner used about 27 bags. And while my butt was dragging by the time I got to #6 - the mixer never missed a beat. June 17, 2014
