Just bought this, got the dead bolt in, but im trying to calabrate the fob, i go out side touch it, it either stays blue, or i tried again, got it green twice, then the third time it went red. customer service already is closed. im so dissapointed right now. second question, i also bought 2 extra key fobs, not realizing i dont need the extra fobs since we all have smart phones that we need to program. also, the guy at the store told me for a door knob, since we dont need to use a entry door knob to get a closet door knob, my husband had me go back to exchange the knob for a entry door knob. hopefully tomorrow i'll have better luck when i call customer service for help on calabrating the fob.

Installed this in our new house a month ago along with some other tech things to "automate" the house and REALLY, REALLY wanted this to work. My wife told me "Honey we don't need it", but I said that some day we will be leaving, and have to give someone a key and that we will be SO thankful that we had it. Just that one experience will be worth that extra $150,.. Right!!??
WRONG. We left the dogs outside here in Phoenix Arizona in July and sent a friend a Kevo eKey as we went out of town for a day. My friend downloaded the eKey and not only did I give him full instructions, but he followed the directions provided in the Kevo email. He has an iPhone 6 Plus (same as my phone) and followed those Kevo emailed directions ... For 30 MINUTES. He tried shutting his phone off to reset his phone, turning app on/off, resetting Bluetooth... Everything. And at the end of the day nothing worked.
Luckily I did have the MyQ Liftmaster remote garage door opener. Let my friend in through the garage by pressing a button on my iPhone. Works like a charm.
Other note, this unit did work, occasionally, with my iPhone and I used it as a "neat techy feature" myself. Problem there was that about 60% of the time I would stand outside the door, phone in hand to unlock or lock the door using my iPhone, and at the first try the app wouldn't connect. Says "no device detected". 2nd time around it would work,.. But I had now spent 45 sec outside my door trying to lock it. Lol. So much for convenience!
Also, the "keep the keyfob in your pocket and just touch the door lock to open the door" feature (which I tried to set up about 8x and finally just gave up) didn't even work.
I sooooo wanted this to work. Now I'm taking it back to Home Depot,.. Tomorrow... And getting my $ back.
Check out an automated, app-controlled garage door opener, if you want to let someone in but not give out a keypad code. Totally worth it, and a better solution (and only $89!)

I have been fighting with this lock system for over six months. Kevo replaced the lock three times and the kevo plus once. The idea is great. The execution is terrible. At times the lock works great other times you sit there like an idiottapping your look over and over again hoping the lock will open. We had the Kevo Plus as well. It worked less than half the times I tried to use it. I had to leave work to let someone in because the Kevo Plus failed to work. Kevo has not added any new phones to the compatibility list in almost a year. Not compatable with s7 phones. Kevo bought back the whole system without argument, which makes me think they know the lock has problems.

We bought this item and it was just a headache..... we couldn't use the app properly with the lock.. it was not easy installation at all.... don't think I would ever buy it again

if you gonna used this lock for the front door, look first if you have a window next to the door. if you have a window, anyone can open the door from outside without the key or phone. which is not good. i spoke to kevo and they will give a different one but used. i will buy a different one but new.

DO NOT BUY! This lock is more trouble then it's worth. It will not calibrate and almost everyone who comes through the door touches and activates it. Very annoying for a deadbolt to slam preventing the to close

I will be returning my Kevo as soon as possible after speaking with their horrendous customer service. Since the date I purchased the device, I have been receiving error messages on my smartwatch that the kevo app has crashed. These messages occur every 10 minutes, and must be dismissed before I can even check the time as they take up the entire screen. Kwikset is aware of the issue, but has stated multiple times that they have no ETA for an update to correct the issue. I was told by their support that until an update is pushed at some point in the future, I should simply uninstall the Kevo app from my phone and use a standard key when unlocking my Kevo. If I wanted to use a standard key, I probably wouldn't have spent $200 on a smart deadbolt.
