Answer:
I have 2 that I swap out. I burn the lint off the one not being used after it dries out, then they can be reused. that works a couple of times, then the bottom comes untied.

Answer:
If you put this filter on the end of your discharge hose and then put it in a pipe where you can't see it as it fills up, you're risking blocking the washing machine discharge and causing a flood.

Carmen, what you said is brilliant -- letting it dry and burning the lint out! Never thought of that!!
But what do you use to secure it on again? I have to cut the plastic tie when I remove mine...

Thanks!

With the tie, they attach well to the end of the washer drain pipe and catch most of the lint, especially after the first few washes when lint starts to trap in the mesh. The only problem with these is how often I have to replace them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good Lint Trap I like this lint trap because of its features and efficiency. For instance, it was very easy to secure around the washing machine hose that empty into the sink. Also, the size of the pores or meshes enables it to effectively filter out the lint from the water being transferred into the sink. Finally, the stainless steel material provides it with a very good corrosion-resistant feature. Therefore, it is very good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lint Trap with Tie Very simple to use. Was always getting backups on tub drain and having to use tons of chemicals or call in router man. Put this on end of hose in 10 seconds and wow. Could not believe how much it catches. We have two dogs, Jack Russell and Westie. Westie sheds like crazy. This simple solution catches it. Best band for the buck and soooooooo simple. Lasts for weeks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, effective, and inexpensive I have a black labrador retriever and these lint traps for the washer discharge are a requirement to help keep my plumbing free of fur clogs. If any of you have a lab then you know how much they shed all over the place and it never stops. The fur gets all over everything and it is all over our clothes when we do laundry. We replace these lint traps frequently and we usually buy about a dozen or two packages at a time. It's amazing how quickly these fill up with dog fur and lint from your clothes and I am thankful that I use these and haven't had a pipe clog yet in our basement drain. The installation of these traps is so easy that my son and wife don't mind replacing them. They come with a zip tie and the lint trap.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Lint Trap Value These traps are half the length of other traps on the market which means you must change them twice as often, and buy them twice as often.
