We moved into our new home last summer. While the lawn wasn't terrible, it had its share of bare spots, weeds, unwanted Bermudagrass, and spiky thistles. We didn't know if anything had been applied to the lawn that spring, so we figured we'd wait until the fall to avoid overstressing the lawn if it had been fertilized or treated already. In late September, we aerated, overseeded with LESCO's Transition Supreme grass seed, and used LESCO Starter Fertilizer. Some new seedlings did sprout, but I didn't expect much to happen before winter.
This winter we noticed our lawn had quite a bit of thatch, so we decided to dethatch our lawn and overseed again in mid-March. Again, both the LESCO Starter Fertilizer and Transition Supreme seed were used. After a few good rains and temperatures in the 50s and 60s, our lawn came alive. My husband and I couldn't believe what we were seeing. Roughly 90% of the bare spots filled in within two weeks. The grass turned a deep green and is as thick as carpet. Our work isn't quite done, but the transformation is incredible! I've attached several photos for you to see the "after" result, taken within the last week (a few today). I don't have any "before" photos, but you can see the difference between our lawn and our neighbor's lawn in a few photos. Ours wasn't much better than theirs when we moved in last summer.
My husband and I will be LESCO customers for life. We just put down an application of the LESCO Dimension Crabgrass Preventer. We will also be using the LESCO Weed and Feed in late summer, and the LESCO Fall & Winter Fertilizer in November. We could not be happier with our results!!

Homeowners take note ---- Lesco products are far superior than Scott's or other commercially advertised brands. Lesco (John Deere Landscapes) is the supplier to most companies in the Lawn Care and Golf Course Industry. Kathy, I've been in the Lawn Industry for nearly 30 years - if your lawn is more weeds than lawn after seeding its not due to the grass seed - it's due to how your lawn was prepared prior to seeding and most likely poor watering during germination.

I planted this in the fall last year in a couple spots and it grew great!!! Came back this year even better!! I ended up redoing my whole lawn this year and the lawn looks beautifull!!! It grew is so full I recommend this seed to any one who willl listen!!! I've used Scott's seed in the past and was a dedicated buyer until I gave Lesco a try!!! After reading the reviews online I knew I wasn't the only one with great results!!!

Redoing my lawn with this seed. Getting outstanding germination right at the 14 days mark.No weeds other than what is jumping into the soil from birds and wind. Tried some KBG and will not do that again. getting an excellent deep green color. Best seed I have tried and I have tried many others at other properties that have not grown as well. Southeastern Virginia area.

Lesco transition worked for me much better than Scotts did. I really think its a better seed than any seed product Scotts offers and I"ve tried them all. Its worth the money.
