I bought it two weeks ago, Aerated and seeded and fertilized with starter at half the recommended rate...watered every day and nothing. The bag that is shown online is not the same as the bag I had. It was $57 down the drain. What did I do wrong...I am wondering if this was a bag of dead seed from a year ago?? What should I do if anything?

So sorry to hear that. I fell in love with Lesco grass seeds about 4yrs ago and never looked back. I am not happy that HD seem to suddenly stop carrying it. I am not sure what you did or did not do correctly but sometimes it may need some extra water since this area did not get much rain lately? I have a 100x50 size yard and I like to use the 50lb bag and its usually up, with good watering, in 7-10dys. I Read More

My advice is to be patient--as hard as that can be sometimes. Ten days ago, we aerated, fertilized, and seeded here in southern Maryland. So far, my weeds love all my hard work. It's my understanding it could take up to 21 days to germinate. Every rain forecast keeps getting pushed back and I'm forced to lug hose around an acre of land hoping it's not all for nothing as it has been for two previous years Read More

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Grass Seed I have used in North Raleigh I have used Scotts, all top brands over the years and none of these brands have matched up to Lesco in terms of heat, drought, disease, weeds, etc. I started using Lesco in 2012 when a builder told me it was the best he has tried. So I took a chance and now it is my #1 brand. This is for Supreme Transition Fescue Blend Seed. August 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just as Good as Rebels But Cheaper Recent hot summers have been disastrous for fesue lawns in my area. I previously used Rebels or Scotts Fescue Seeds for overseeding in the Fall until their prices became just too expensive. About 4 years ago a professional landscaper told me about Lesco Transition Seeds, and I've been using it ever since with great results. It is a fescue blend and has NO filler or weeds. The Lesco Seeds also has the best germination rate (90%) of all major brands and produces a lush dark green turf. Save yourself some money and go with Lesco Transion Seeds. September 9, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Finally have a green yard! Last year I seeded with a local facilities grass seed "guaranteed" to grow grass. Well that fall it looked good until spring time came and it did not really bounce back. So this year I sprayed roundup on my entire yard for a new start. Two applications spaced 3 weeks apart seemed to kill everything. I rented a slit seed and used Lesco starter fertilizer and 2 (50lb) bags of seed. Set my spreader for 10lbs per 1000 sq ft and now 8 weeks laters I am happy everytime I come home to see the green yard. It has a great color and seems healthy Also seems the more I cut it the thicker it grows. I am glad I have switched over to Lesco products and will be using the lesco fall fertilizer here shortly to prepare it for winter. If i remember I will try to get a picture of the yard this weekend. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by That product is very good This product I have use year after year because of it quality and durability. I would and have recommend it to family and friends alike. Try it, you will like. November 5, 2013
