I bought kitchen appliances less than two years ago. The previous appliances (GE) I had worked just fine but I wanted an upgrade. I like how LG items looked and I bought fridge, gas range, dishwasher and over-the-range microwave. Few weeks ago the microwave handle broke off. I contacted LG since the manufacturers warranty expired after a year of the purchase and after observing that the plastic that attaches the handle and operates the opening mechanism looks cheap and weak. The kindly responded that they can't do anything but I can vent out my dissatisfaction at their VOC (Voice Of Customer). So basically Im stuck with a microwave that can't open but looks 'nice'.
If you want quality for your money, do NOT buy LG!

Great product. Installation was a bit difficult when trying to attach bolts from bottom of overhead cabinet into microwave. The female threaded receivers in top of microwave should be able to rotate to accomendate slightly off center bolt holes.

We have to buy a new over-the-range microwave for our rental house. The new tenants love it. We got a very good purchase price and it was easy enough to install ourselves.

I like the way the unit looks. However, I have spent more on service labor than I have on the original purchase price. Replace entire unit once (warrantee so no cost to me other than inconvenience). Two additional service calls due to power issues. Both times the technician pre-ordered parts to be drop shipped to my home before he even looked at the unit. That tells me it is a systemic issue with the product. I recommend staying away from LG Microwave. Also, LG service does a very poor job of coordinating and scheduling. Technicians have latitude to change dates and times without even informing anyone. Customer has to check website or call in (often after waiting for 4 hour no-show) to get an update.

Microwave is good. But it did not come with a mounting plate that is critical piece for installing it over the counter. Called the same home depot store, they said they dont have one. I had to order it online for an additional expense.

Purchased this microwave 1 1/2 yrs ago and it has had to be repaired every 6 months. 1st time it was covered, but not the next 2 times and it's been the same problem each time, obviously defective. All of a sudden it just stops heating whatever you put inside of it. Repairman comes, replaces a part and 6 months later, same problem. Should have just purchased a new one since it costs as much to repair. Contacted customer service, but LG does not stand behind their products.
Will NEVER purchase an LG microwave again!!

Bought this microwave in February. In May, exactly 100 days after purchase, the microwave went out. It was the main component. I called the 800 number for service and had someone out the next day to look at it (not the bad service part). They told me that it would be 1 and 1/2 weeks to get the parts. When I called the 800 number back, because this frustrated me, I was hung up on twice. They came to replace the parts 1 week later and the microwave still doesn't work so they took it with them. I now have to go who knows how long without a microwave and still no answers from the service company or LG. Save yourself the trouble and buy a different brand, I wish I would have!
