What does "convertible" mean in regards to the vent?

Specifically, does it/will it vent out the bottom? I plan to install it over a range and there is no vent above.
Asked by: Anonymous
The oven can be installed either for an external vent, or converted (by changing the fan position) to recycle the air taken in the bottom out the top front of the oven.

I have LMV1630ST willLMV1831 fit on this bracket

Asked by: mophead
The LG 1.6 cu. ft. Over the Range Microwave Oven in Stainless Steel, Model # LMV1630ST and the LG 1.8 cu.ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven, Model # LMV1831ST both have the same width and height dimensions (29 15/16" x 16 7/16" ). The mounting plates for both should have the same width and the support tabs on them that you hand the microwave onto should be positioned in the same locations on the microwave ovens so the mounting plate for the LMV1630ST should work based on the above. The difference is that the LMV1630ST is deeper with a depth of 17 7/8" versus 15 3/8" for the LMV1831ST, so depending on the depth of your cabinets, the LMV1831ST will recede further into the cabinet space. That might not be an issue since most standard upper kitchen cabinets are 14 to 16 inches deep. Pardon for not being definitive about this, regrettably, the installation manuals for the microwaves do not provide any measurements. Typically, the installation manuals come with rear wall and upper cabinet templates that allow you to align the holes accurately while preparing to mount the microwaves. You can contact our Call Representatives at (800) 243-0000 for a more definitive answer to your inquiry...^IFV

What side of the power cord come out on ?

Asked by: Kelly
Hello Kelly. Regrettably, there aren't any diagrams or images that definitively show the location of the power cord on the LG 1.6 cu. ft. Over the Range Microwave Oven in Stainless Steel, Model # LMV1683ST, but judging from the description of where the dedicated socket for plugging the unit into must be and where the hole that you would need to drill in an upper cabinet when installing this unit, it appears it would be on the right-hand side when looking at the unit from the front. You can verify this with our Call Representatives at (800) 243-0000...^IFV

How do I get repkaxemenr1 grease filters for rhia microwave

Asked by: JamieV
The grease filters for the LG 1.6 cu. ft. Over the Range Microwave Oven in Stainless Steel, Model # LMV1683ST can be removed and cleaned often, at least once a month by soaking them in hot water and a mild detergent. They can be ordered from any of LG's Authorized Parts Distributors of which there are three located in the Western, Central and Eastern regions of the U.S. To find the one closest to your location, you can visit our page at http://www.lg.com/us/support/parts-accessories and click on the U.S. map to find the information for it from where you can order the grease filters. Just give them the model number for your microwave oven and they will know which filters you need. The manufacturer's part number is #5230W1A012B...^IFV

1.6 cu. ft. Over the Range Microwave Oven in Stainless Steel is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 563.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from WORST Microwave I've Ever Purchased - Deserves 0 Stars Purchased this microwave 1 1/2 yrs ago and it has had to be repaired every 6 months. 1st time it was covered, but not the next 2 times and it's been the same problem each time, obviously defective. All of a sudden it just stops heating whatever you put inside of it. Repairman comes, replaces a part and 6 months later, same problem. Should have just purchased a new one since it costs as much to repair. Contacted customer service, but LG does not stand behind their products. Will NEVER purchase an LG microwave again!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really disappointed. I like the way the unit looks. However, I have spent more on service labor than I have on the original purchase price. Replace entire unit once (warrantee so no cost to me other than inconvenience). Two additional service calls due to power issues. Both times the technician pre-ordered parts to be drop shipped to my home before he even looked at the unit. That tells me it is a systemic issue with the product. I recommend staying away from LG Microwave. Also, LG service does a very poor job of coordinating and scheduling. Technicians have latitude to change dates and times without even informing anyone. Customer has to check website or call in (often after waiting for 4 hour no-show) to get an update.

If you like use it ONLY as an expensive looking/show, decoration in your kitchen, you got it! If you want a real working reliable microwave microwave, then WALK AWAY!! This is a very cheaply made Microwave and constructed by LG. I have had this for 13 months, and it is loud, it is weak and now most of the function buttons have ceased to work!!

Worked inconsistently from the beginning. Completely stopped working 18 months after we purchased it. As we were outside of the warranty period, LG charges a minimum of $280+ for a repair visit -- more than the retail price of the unit. LG does not guarantee successful repair and if they cannot repair it, you are still charged a minimum of $100. We are replacing the microwave rather than rolling the dice on repair. Also, staying clear of the LG brand going forward. There are an increasing number of consumer complaints about LG's customer service and brand reliability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great deal! We love this microwave. Normally we get all Whirlpool appliances but this was on sale for Black Friday and so far it works amazing. Also very easy to install, did myself in less then 30 mins but I do recommend to have someone help hold it while you put in the screws from above to secure it to the top cabinet.

OK, so I didn't realize until after we installed it that it does not have a timer!! I used my timer on my ancient microwave all the time for other things I was cooking, etc. The first time we used the popcorn button, it got extremely burnt. Again, my ancient microwave cooked popcorn perfectly. Not impressed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do NOT buy LG appliances I bought kitchen appliances less than two years ago. The previous appliances (GE) I had worked just fine but I wanted an upgrade. I like how LG items looked and I bought fridge, gas range, dishwasher and over-the-range microwave. Few weeks ago the microwave handle broke off. I contacted LG since the manufacturers warranty expired after a year of the purchase and after observing that the plastic that attaches the handle and operates the opening mechanism looks cheap and weak. The kindly responded that they can't do anything but I can vent out my dissatisfaction at their VOC (Voice Of Customer). So basically Im stuck with a microwave that can't open but looks 'nice'. If you want quality for your money, do NOT buy LG!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 3 years and needs to be replaced already. Broke after 3 years! A hole burnt right through the inside mounting plate when reheating pizza for 2 1/2 mins. Used daily but only for a minimal time to heat small items or defrost. previous micro lasted 12 years. Certainly not made like their used to.
