This is a basic microwave. It looks very fine and works. That was all I really wanted. The button pad and selections it offers could be better. I don't care about special buttons for things like mac & cheese, hotdog, chicken nuggets. I would have preferred a "1-minute" or "2-minute", etc. buttons. It has more odd preferences when you hit the defrost button. I am figuring out how to by pass these and just use my own timing.
The light undeneath over the stove is dim. I may be able to fix that when the bulbs are replaced.
I bought this mainly because I wanted it to match my other LG appliances.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HillsKitchenRedo Very nice looking microwave! Gets the job done in record time.
Overall, this is a great microwave. It has some really nice features for a family on the go, like the Kids Meal for Mac & Cheese, Chicken Nuggets, and Hotdogs. I wish the screen was bigger, as it's hard to read the scrolling words...they seem to be at the bottom of the screen, which blocks the lower half of the letters. This may in part be due to the height of the installation, but this was not an issue with previous microwave. It would also be nice if the keypad was lit at night. Hard to turn on the Light , when the button is not lit. Also, the instruction booklet is inadequate in explaining all the functions, and cooking capability. Wish there was a cookbook.

We are so pleased with this microwave. Very attractive in the kitchen. There are so many 'tricks' and special custom functions we haven't learned yet (need to read more of the manual) but those we do know of are very nice. The "soften" and "melt" functions are handy. It's also very quiet; our refrigerator running is louder than this micro.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Andrew Impressive appliance!
I am very impressed with this microwave. Along with the other LG appliances (Fridge, Electric Range, Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer), my house is very stylish. It puts a smile on my face seeing the kitchen appliances uniform and all stainless steel. As silly as it sounds, it brightens my day! This device is aesthetically pleasing and does its job very nicely. Highly recommended!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by dano Quit working after a year and a half!!!!!! REALLY?
Bought this with a full set of LG stainless steel appliances and this thing just stops working one day. Everything works fine until i go to press the start button and it trips the breaker. everytime! LG gave me a number to call for service, they want like almost 200 just to come out and to take a look at it. That doesn't include parts! I'll never buy another LG appliance or product again now. Very disappointed.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by KH4SJ Purchased on June 19, 2011. It just died for no reason on Nov. 4, 2012.
I purchased this LG over-the-range microwave microwave for my upgraded kitchen on June 19, 2011 and thought it will work with no problem for many years. Well, I was just shocked when my microwave just died completely on November 4, 2012, which is simply one year and a few months from purchase!!! It was not a cheap brand and a cheap model and extremely disappointed with this loss.

We purchased the LG LMV1813 in white 07/05/2011 from Home Depot. We purchased the LG Range LRG3093 at the same time. A few weeks ago I was roasting a chicken in the regular oven. (375 for 2hrs) Closer to the end of cooking I started preparing mashed potatoes, corn, stuffing, and gravy on the top of the range (it was pretty hot on top of the stove.) I always cook with the microwave light on over the stove. I suddenly noticed my light on the microwave, over the stove, had gone out. Tried turning it back on and nothing. Tried turning on the vent and nothing. The microwave was completely dead!! Tried putting something in the microwave and sure enough the thing is completely dead. What? This unit is 2 months old! We checked to make sure it was still plugged in, which it was, and left it go until the next day. Next morning, I notice the microwave's power is back on again. Huh? However, now we notice none of the "sensor touch" programs work on the microwave. The sensor touch programmed buttons are the ones you can touch one time and what you have put in the microwave will auto cook like - popcorn, a preprogrammed reheat button, and cook button. My husband is an electronics technician and he believes the oven just got too hot and shut the microwave down, once the microwave cooled down, it came back on again. We will be going to Home Depot this weekend to see what can be done. Really disappointed considering the microwave we replaced, used for over 10-11yrs and Never had an issue (we replaced our old Kenmore range and microwave with the new LG units.)
