Rated 4.0 out of 5.0Â by Bobert Great for the price, but . . .
Purchased 9/9 in Florida and can't be happier with purchase thus far.
The upside: Portable AC being used on screened porch with vinyl windows - 12 x 20 porch with 10' ceiling. First thing I did was plug it in without connecting exhaust hose to determine if unit was too loud or acceptable. Sorry for those saying it's too loud, but it's actually very quiet compared to my central AC unit and a box fan. Exhaust hose installation was fairly easy considering my vertical windows are 58" tall. Installation accessories covered 54" so open area at top was covered with white duct tape which blends in nicely with window frame. Unit cools room extremely fast considering humidity here 95 early AM and temp 80 by 9:00 am. By late morning room is very comfortable.
The downside: water drain plug is very low and unit does not include drain hose. To drain collected water you must unplug unit (not convenient for us), disengage exhaust hose and move to outside door or other convenient place to drain water and then move back to original location, reconnect exhaust hose and electrical plug. Not very convenient. Trying to find appropriate drain hose and connections not easy or convenient. Have given Ace Hardware a challenge, but methinks LG should provide appropriate lower drain hose and connections.
Overall, I recommend this unit other than notes stated above.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0Â by soulssong Good air conditioner - loud though
This is a nice air conditioner. I purchased it for my bedroom, where I did not want a window AC. I insulated the exhaust vent and wrapped it in black material so it isn't obvious.
Pros: This unit has a nice looking design, is compact, easy to install, efficient, I live in Colorado so we it's mostly dry heat and I don't have to empty the water out of this unit often. We have another brand AC in another area of the house we have to drain daily. Easy to program. I like that it has a remote.
Cons: The fan is very loud and the low speed is not much different than the high speed. This may be a con for some.. it makes a noise when you turn it on, off and change any setting. Doesn't come with a drain tube. You're expected to purchase one yourself.

I bought this portable air conditioner because my apartment complex doesn't allow outside-the-window air conditioners. I felt the price was very reasonable. The way that my apartment is designed, I had to install the AC in the kitchen window to cool down my living room. This wasn't a problem with the venting hose provided and I liked that I could wheel the AC to face my living room. (My con with the venting hose is that it pops out of the diffuser too easily, so I had to tape it together). The rest of the installation went smoothly. This AC cools down the room quickly, but it is a bit loud.

My third air conditioner has failed again! The compressor stops running before the room is cooled. I purchased the 10,000 BTU to ensure a cool room, the 8,000 would have been fine. In reading reviews online, I see that a lot of people have experienced the same thing. Apparently not filled or leaking cooling fluid is the cause. I bought this to replace an older LG that worked great for about four years. After three LG air conditioners, I will try a different brand. Frustrating, but happy that Home Depot has replaced each unit. I will be returning this on today!

this product is not portable as described. it must vent from a window which makes it unable to move from room to room. I will be returning it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0Â by 4cooldogs Happy with my desperation purchase
I purchased this when my central A/C went down. I live in central NC and we have very hot and humid summers, so having to drain the water 2-3 times a day is a process, but the unit worked right out of the box and was extremely easy to get up and running and equally easy to wheel from room to room as needed. If the process to drain water from the unit was easier I would give this a 5-star. I also have an open floor plan so it would work better if your home has lots of doors so you can close off the room where the unit is running, which I could do in my bedroom. Even with those couple of limitations, I was still glad to have this and it gives me peace of mind to know it's here in the event the central A/C dies in the future. The noise level of the unit is equal to a room fan and I heard no difference between high and low speed on the unit. This product is too heavy to move up or down a flight of stairs so will work best in a one level home.

This was easy to set up and get working. Didn't have the half inch rubber hose for drainage of water (or if it did, I never found it).

Did a decent job cooling but evaporator feature did not work well at all. Had to tilt and empty excess water every 3-4 hours. Returned to store for refund.
