This is a nice air conditioner. I purchased it for my bedroom, where I did not want a window AC. I insulated the exhaust vent and wrapped it in black material so it isn't obvious.
Pros: This unit has a nice looking design, is compact, easy to install, efficient, I live in Colorado so we it's mostly dry heat and I don't have to empty the water out of this unit often. We have another brand AC in another area of the house we have to drain daily. Easy to program. I like that it has a remote.
Cons: The fan is very loud and the low speed is not much different than the high speed. This may be a con for some.. it makes a noise when you turn it on, off and change any setting. Doesn't come with a drain tube. You're expected to purchase one yourself.

I bought this portable air conditioner because my apartment complex doesn't allow outside-the-window air conditioners. I felt the price was very reasonable. The way that my apartment is designed, I had to install the AC in the kitchen window to cool down my living room. This wasn't a problem with the venting hose provided and I liked that I could wheel the AC to face my living room. (My con with the venting hose is that it pops out of the diffuser too easily, so I had to tape it together). The rest of the installation went smoothly. This AC cools down the room quickly, but it is a bit loud.

I bought this for my 20x12 living room and it cools it down quickly. It's loud as I expected it would be as I already have a smaller version in my bedroom. At first, it needed to be drained quite a lot - once a day. Don't drain it in place because the draining process can be messy. After a few attempts of draining it in place, I drained it in my bathroom tub which allowed me to drain it completely and it's been running for a few weeks now without filling up.

Does NOT cool room below 80 degrees in the middle of summer in NY. We bought 2 units in 2 different sizes, a large for the living room and small one for the bedroom for our small apartment. Both units worked GREAT in the month of May, when the outside temperature was 80, they were able to cool the room to 73. That was the absolute coldest temperature it will ever get in the room. Now that its 95 every day, forget about feeling cool and the loud noise takes a lot of getting used to. Its too bad because these were SO easy to install. Hopefully Home Depot still takes these back for refunds.

this product is not portable as described. it must vent from a window which makes it unable to move from room to room. I will be returning it.

ordered on line picked up at store. Got product home followed instructions and compressor would not turn on. Instructions said not to return but to call LG. Explained problem on phone and should have been told to take back to store. Three days later a tech came out supposed to be there between 8 & 12 finally got there at 1:30. Walked upstairs turned it on was there 5 minutes and came down said it wasn't fixable. Read other reviews and this was a recurring problem. He should have brought a replacement unit. Had to take back to Home depot. Return department was great even gave me $50 dollars credit toward a better model if I wanted one. All they had in stock was other LG models. Home Depot was nice enough to send me a $50 dollar gift card for my bad experience with LG. Home Depot Yea-LG nay. Ready to throw my phone out.

The LG portable air conditioner I purchased was very easy to install. It's noisy, but I got used to it. The only downside is that while the description indicates it is self-evaporator, it isn't. Depending how much you use it, the drain pan has to be emptied. The problem with this is that the drain plug is at the very bottom of the a/c and there is very little room to get a pan or bowl under it to drain the water. I solved this by putting the a/c on a 6" box. Now it's easily drained

Worked perfectly for 1 year then compressors stopped working 14 months after purchase. We live in New Jersey so actual usage was approximately 5 months. Unit was used occasionally, not continuously. Phoned LG customer service, they said out of warranty nothing they can do.
That makes this a one season $320 dollar purchase.
