If you can find a drain hose with the proper inner diameter to fit into the bottom drain port that might work for you. In most cases, your portable air conditioner will not need to be drained because it will expel water vapor collected during the dehumidifying/cooling process and that moisture is released through the exhaust hose along with hot exhaust air...^IFV Read Less

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Enough I bought this portable air conditioner because my apartment complex doesn't allow outside-the-window air conditioners. I felt the price was very reasonable. The way that my apartment is designed, I had to install the AC in the kitchen window to cool down my living room. This wasn't a problem with the venting hose provided and I liked that I could wheel the AC to face my living room. (My con with the venting hose is that it pops out of the diffuser too easily, so I had to tape it together). The rest of the installation went smoothly. This AC cools down the room quickly, but it is a bit loud. June 30, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by not portable this product is not portable as described. it must vent from a window which makes it unable to move from room to room. I will be returning it. April 20, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Portable air conditioner The air conditioner works well, so far. I believe it would make it easier on the customer for the company to supply a plastic tubing with the air conditioner to get rid of the water discharged from it; this is one of the reasons I gave it only four stars. I'm using the a.c. in my living room and although it is an open space I noticed that it cools the room very fast. Overall, I'm satisfied with the product. I was able to order this air conditioner through Home Depot website: I had a great experience. I placed the order, two hours later I received a confirmation email telling me that the a.c. was ready for pick up. Once in the store, I went to the customer service desk and was able to pick it up fairly quick (not waiting time at all) at the Chicopee, Ma Store. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good product Since we move to fontana the temperatures are a lot higher than where we justo live at in Covina we look around and we bought this portable ac to have it in our bedroom so far works amazing the room always fresh and my husband love it so much we are thinking of buying another one to have it in our living room helps a lot during summer always fresh in our bedroom it wasn't hard to installed it's easy anyone could do it we actually did it different cause we live in apartments so we have large slide in doors not regular Windows but still works great the way we did it can't wait to buy another one June 20, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by It does work but not as good as a window unit. We got this to replace a 10 year old 8k BTU LG window unit that failed at the end of last summer. The reviews were favorable from all over the Internet. This unit does work but it is not ideal. The single hose design is counter productive as the only make up air is from the hot and humid outside. It WILL pull in the hot humid outside air into the space you are attempting to condition. This unit seemed easier to store and install. Which it is. However, the functionality is not what I was looking for. Looking back on it I should have gotten a window unit again. June 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Cooling, Small Reservoir. Purchased this because it seemed a good replacement for my DeLonghi Penguino 1000 BTU unit that quit working. We've had it running approximately three days and we've had to empty the water (which has spilled out on our carpet to boot) for two of those days. The unit auto shuts off when the reservoir is full, which is fine, only it seems to do this in the middle of the day, when it's hottest. This is not a simple process, because it involves disconnecting the vent, unplugging the unit, picking the fairly heavy unit up, having someone assist in picking it up and balancing it on something that will support it, removing the plug, draining it, and then putting everything back together again. We will be attempting to return it to the store as quickly as possible. I suppose it is possible that the auto evap function is broken in the unit, I've no idea. Highly dissatisfied. July 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cools well...but has other issues. I purchased this unit yesterday so I only had it one day now. But had no issues installing the window attachments for my cresent/slider window. Its the only kind I can purchase being I cannot use the window kind for up and down windows. It cooled out right away instantly actually. The issues I have had almost right away is the hose that attaches to the unit keeps falling off. I had to tape it to the locking circular holder which attaches nicely to the unit. Too bad the hose doesn't follow up and work well too. Very disappointed that I cannot extend it further in my living room etc. I have to balance the hose against the wall in order for the tape to work being it gets very hot when in use pulling in the warm outside air. So if you can deal with the hose I think its a great unit. The unit will not leak if you plug in the plug for the moisture. I drained mine at end of the day and only found a very small amount of water. So these other people must not have closed the plug before each use. Remote works well too. Yes it is noisy but my older model was the same. Remember all the motors are in your home. Goes with the unit cannot avoid this. The coolness overrides all other issues. Give it a try...I think its great for the price and BTU's for coolness. July 17, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not Worth Anything I should have paid attention to all the negative reviews, but instead accepted the review of someone who suggested that those providing negative reviews just were not aware of the actual size of the room to be cooled. Well, I know my room size, 15' X 15', 225 sq. ft. So, I bought the unit for a 300 sq. ft. area. No matter when I started this AC, it NEVER cooled one degree below what it started at. One time, it ran for four hours and still never cooled even one degree. This unit is going back to Home Depot and I would sincerely suggest that no one purchase this unit. June 21, 2016
