There are many factors that will determine how much amperage the LG 10 cu. ft. Bottom Freezer Refrigerator in Platinum, Model # LBN10551PS draws when actually in use and it will vary from one individual to the next due to those factors. The external temperatures and the temperature for where the refrigerator is installed will affect the amperage draw because that determines how often and how long the compressor runs, as will the number of door openings and how long the doors are kept open. Opening the doors allows warm air to enter the refrigerator and if kept open to the point where the interior warms up, will turn the compressor on so the refrigerator can maintain your set temperature. How low you have set the temperature and what the external temperature is will also affect the amperage draw because in especially hot weather, the compressor may have to run longer to reach the set temperature and to maintain it. The voltage coming into your house also will affect the amperage draw. The voltage coming into your home will vary anywhere from 115 volts to 125 volts depending on a number of factors and the best way to determine the amperage draw would be to plug a clamp meter or watt-hour meter into the receptacle then plug the refrigerator into that and it will give you readings on how may amps the refrigerator is drawing over a period of time. Some of the meters will average the results out for you. They can give you a reading every hour, day, or month...^IFV Read Less

Answer:
NO.
Do not place any heavy items on the top of the fridge. There's a mechanical panel plate on the top of the unit which would most likely get damaged, plus your microwave will be very wobbly and extremely dangerous.

You will have to refer to the installation instructions for your microwave or contact its' manufacture to inquire about whether ro not you can set in on top of the LG 10 cu. ft. Bottom Freezer Refrigerator in Platinum, Model # LBN10551PS. There aren't any technical reasons that prevent you from doing that but it maybe more a safety issue of the unit falling on someone...^IFV

Bottom Freezer Refrigerator in Smooth White, Model # LBN10551SW weighs 152 lbs, and if there is dirt and grit under the foot of an appliance can increase the friction enough to rip vinyl pretty easily. The best way to move it and protect your floors may be to damp-mop the floor. When it's dry, lay down a piece of -inch hardboard (often referred to as Masonite), shiny side up, lift or lever the appliance and lower it onto the hardboard, then gently coax the appliance forward. For really heavy machines, slip a furniture glide under the front feet once you get the appliance onto the hardboard. Slide the appliance forward and place two glides under the back feet. Vinyl floors are especially prone to damage from pivoting, so you'll want to avoid that type of motion...^IFV Read Less

Answer:
There are very bright interior lights in the top fridge portion of the unit. The freezer has no lights but the drawers pull out so with the room light I don't find it a problem.
I really love the size and find it so much more efficient than larger models what would take up so much space.
Hope this helps.

10 cu. ft. Bottom Freezer Refrigerator in Platinum is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 107.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fits in my kitchen I bought this fridge because it fits in the space I had and it has a bottom freezer. I would have preferred a single freezer drawer to pull out, but that doesn't seem to be an option in this size range. Instead, this model has a freezer door with three drawer-like bins and a shallow tray (for ice cubes). This works fine, except that the door has to be all the way open to access anything in the bins or to remove an ice cube. Space is very limited in my small kitchen, so sometimes I have to move a chair in order to get into the freezer. The other limitation worth mentioning is that the refrigerator shelves are not adjustable -- there are runners built into the sides of the refrigerator. But it works well, holds enough, etc. No complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great refrigerator! Love my new fridge! Vegetable bin holds A LOT! Freezer drawers are great for organizing and finding frozen foods. Shelves cannot hold tall items like milk cartons or soda bottles, but that is not an issue for me. Door can hold half-gallon-sized cartons. It is VERY quiet! I am so glad I finally upgraded from my very old top freezer refrigerator. I have been wanting a bottom freezer for years. This one is smaller and so much better than my old fridge and at a great price, too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small but doable. I have a tiny kitchen. I really wanted a counter-depth refrigerator and bought this one because it ran at least $600 less than any of the other counter-depth refrigerators that I found. It is narrow. And while there is plenty of freezer space, refrigerator space is a little tight (though all the non-expired food in my old appliance fit just fine, and there is plenty of remaining room in the crisper for fresh food). My main problem seems to be what do so with all that stuff you never really use, but needs to stay in the refrigerator (ketchup, mustard, relish, soy sauce, all kinds of vinegars, etc.) Everything fits, but the condiments seem to be overwhelming the space. I think a quick run to The Container Store for counter-depth organizers is all I need. (This is the third LG appliance I have purchased from Home Depot. I previously purchased a stainless steel slide in range, which I love. And I more recently purchased a front loading dryer that I really like as well. The manufacturer really makes a great product.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You know it's small, you'll still be surprised how smawll It's a great fridge. It looks sleek, and it is small. If you're the type of family that needs the full-size jug of anything, this is not your fridge. Milk carton, yes. Plastic jug of 2% milk, no. If I wasn't clear, this guy doesn't have enough room for a gallon of milk. It does fit a full-size 18-cup dispenser of water (pictured). It can handle most everything else you'd need for a few days--think fresh ingredients and some leftovers. If you're a condiment fiend, there's probably not enough room for you. Need to fit a full pizza box or lots of takeout containers? Go find a different fridge. One last thing: the lack of an ice maker doesn't bother me as much as I thought it might.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great size for small, older homes with 30-inch wide kitchen doors. Size is perfect for up to 3 people. Takes up very little space and easy to get through doors. The "blue" light is depressing and inadequate to light the fridge section. I am O.K. with no light in the freezer. Lost a shelf when family came to visit since the kids need gallons of milk and gallon size won't fit in the door. The door shelves do fit a decent amount of items. I like the separate freezer "bins." And yes, a medium-sized pizza won't fit in the freezer bins. Not an issue if you have a stand-alone freezer in garage or basement or don't buy frozen pizza. Fridge is so light the whole unit shakes/moves when I open or close the door. Don't remove the quarter-size stickers covering the two holes in top/back of fridge near the sides. Don't put something on top of fridge that you don't want to fall off from opening and closing the fridge--especially if you have small children. The metal plate on top of fridge coupled with how easy the fridge moves will eventually unbalance/shift items placed on top of fridge. My coffee creamer is a little "icy" so I may eventually shift the settings from the default. Unit does not appear to have separate settings for freezer and fridge just "combo" choices. Really like that it has no handles sticking out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great size; Smart refrigerator We live in a 1940's bunglaow with a tiny little 6'x7' almost square kitchen with no room in the existing cabinetry to fit a fridge, so we have to float it, and the spot is right next to the entryway. I needed a fridge that wouldn't "take up the whole kitchen", and this one is a great fit. It's narrow, but smart. Holds everything for a family of 5 (but we are very conservative). The freezer drawers are great and holds frozen items for 2 weeks of meals (for my family of 5 - seems crazy, I know!) The modern features are wonderful, the lighting, everything. So happy with this little charmer. I do wish it wasn't so modern looking, since our home is not so much, but short of a Smeg novelty fridge, this was the best looking option.

I did not get an opportunity to see this appliance before I purchased it. I knew it would be smaller both in width and depth than my old one, but I wasn't prepared for how much smaller it really is. At 10 cubic feet, which includes the freezer, this refrigerator has a much larger freezer than most refrigerators its size. It doesn't seem like it was designed specifically for the U.S. market as the egg tray holds 8 eggs. and there is an ice cube tray, but no bulk dedicated ice storage. The top of the refrigerator is home to a large raised access panel so there is very little top of the refrigerator storage space. Overall it is actually a handsome appliance, with shiny stainless steel doors and a modern aesthetic. Because of it's small interior space it cools down quickly. The compressor is also very quiet. As a single person it has more than enough room for my needs. I do find that I have to be more selective on what I buy and when, and the small interior space means that all the available space is precious so no "hoarding". I like this appliance and would buy it again.
