Customer Questions & Answers

Do I have to put any water in it? if yes, where through?.

Asked by: Anonymous
No, it's a self-contained unit, no water needed, altho you may have to empty some once in a blue moon, unless you're using it as a dehumidifier, then I imagine you'd be emptying it more often... =^.^=

Where on the unit is the water fill? I do not know where to pour the water.

Asked by: Anonymous
the unit is a DE-humidifier/AC, it ONLY removes water from the air, it doesn't humidify, so there is no adding water to it! =^.^=

How do I drain the water from unit? Drain is so low to ground that my husband had to lift heavy unit while i held flat dish to catch water! Plz Help!

Asked by: Anonymous
I don't know if there is an accessory or not to collect the water. But the intention is that you connect a hose to the drain... and well drain it into a drain.

Customer Reviews

11,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Dehumidifier Function (74 Pint/Day) and Remote Control is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 223.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works better and quieter than my window units I bought this because the price was right and my Windows in my attic/bedroom are to small to fit a window unit. After using this for 2 months I like it better than my other units. It is quieter and seems more efficient than my window units. And I can still use the window when I don't want to run the a/c. I will definitely buy another as replacements for my window units. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

It turns on, compressor kicks in, and the display works fine but you don't get any cold air. LG wants a minimum of $265 to repair it. If you are considering purchasing this a/c, make sure to read all of the reviews. Apparently, my experience is shared by many of the other people who purchased this product. I'm going to throw this in the trash and buy another brand for next summer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked for one summer You'd expect a unit like this to last five to ten years, but only lasted a few months. Installed it again this year after very gentle storage and it no longer cools. Measured the exact same 84° as the room temperature. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from LG air conditioner is not reliable, poor design Not sure if this is the exact model, but it looks like the one I have. Purchased one which didn't last long, so I thought I would give it another chance. It's working BUT you have to drain them often... and IT'S NOT EASY. The ducts/vents come loose and hard to put back in when draining or if you have to move it, finally had to duct tape it to keep it in place. It's a 2 man job to drain, one person has to hold up, than tilt the HEAVY air conditioner while the other person holds a pan to catch the water. If you try to drain this by yourself, there's not much room between the drain and floor so you'll need a shallow pan and it will probably spill onto your floor. Also be careful that it doesn't fall over on you and crush your skull if you drain it by yourself

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well when used properly. Know the limitations. Important note, in reference to bad reviews: portable units like this CANNOT work as well as a window unit, and should only be used if a window unit isn't possible. A lot of heat is generated by the condenser -- most of it goes out the vent hose, but some remains in the room. On a window unit, all of the heat stays outside. Also, if the room you're using it in has doorways and hallways open to un-air-conditioned parts of the house, it would be difficult for any unit this size to cool the room on a hot day. I use this unit in an upstairs 12x12 bedroom, venting it through the attic trap door in the closet. I wrapped the vent hose with fleece fabric to help keep the heat inside it, and I keep my room door closed. I also have a couple of fans to help circulate the air, and it works well this way. It will cool the room to 70 degrees on a hot day -- I wouldn't expect it to do better than that. I am also able to use it on its lowest fan setting, which keeps the noise level down. (It's about as loud as a bathroom fan. You wouldn't want to sleep beside it, but across the room isn't bad.) This may seem like a lot of extra setup work to make it work, but portable units do have limitations that need to be addressed to get the best results. I have never had a problem with it not working. It always comes on and cools. Overall I'm satisfied, because I knew what the limitations would be.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lousy product and lousy warranty follow -up This is, no doubt, one lousy product. Used mine for less than 3 months last summer ( '12) at which time it seemed to be loosing some of its chilling effectiveness. Technician opened unit this week and found the unit had leaked all of the coolant but was not able to obtain correct parts. RETURNED TO ME FOR ME TO DISPOSE OF. Am still waiting in 90+ degree weather for replacement unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This unit is absolute JUNK We purchase (2) of these units for (2) small 10' x 14' offices expecting them to last at least a few years, NOT!! (1) unit failed in 1.2 years and the other failed in 1.6 years and after what would have been the cost for a service call, parts & labor - I might as well buy a new one. I will not purchase another LG air conditioner ever again. AVOID THESE UNITS
