This is the perfect unit for our place. The guidelines supplied with the AC unit and the sleeve made the installation a breeze. The Unit is quieter than I expected and the remote control is useful.

The unit ran poorly for two days after installation then completely died.
Called home depot, they referred me to LG service.
LG service took four days to come out on a service call.
I will have a four day wait for parts then they will need to take the unit to the local repair shop to complete the work. No estimate on how long that may take.
Now for the good news, it was only ninety-two today not the ninety-four they had forecast : )

This A/C unit works great right out of the box. No problems so far, and is fairly quiet for a through the wall A/C.

This A/C was badly needed/excellently installed and was up & running in no time cooling a small ranch house...just perfect.

We love this AC unit and find that it cools more than we thought it would. We have a very old unit in the living room on its last legs (we sort of pretend it is cooling the room) and plan to replace it next summer with the 220V version of this unit because we are so happy with this one. This unit, placed in our bedroom, actually helped lower the temperature in the living room considerably. We face West and are on the third floor of our building so it can get very hot in the afternoons. This unit worked great on days it was in the high 90's.
We did have a problem in that the first unit delivered to us rattled itself apart as soon as we turned it on. It made a horrible rattling noise and shook. I turned it off quickly. When I turned it back on the compressor worked but not the fan. After waiting 5 days through the heat and then counting the hours until it was delivered, this seemed cruel, to be able to hear the compressor and not feel any cool air! I called the LG phone number and the help person thought that we did not have enough electrical power - this must be a common issue, but after I told her I did not have the 220V unit that needed a dedicated circuit, and that we had 20 amp service throughout the house, and pointed out that the unit was a 12 amp unit, she still thought that perhaps the unit was not getting enough power to start the compressor. At this point I turned the unit on and held the phone up to the unit for her to hear that the compressor was on. Then she said that a repair team would come look at it or we could have a replacement unit. I wanted someone to fix it right away, but a four day wait was the best they could do.
I ended up calling Home Depot. They were WONDERFUL! They called LG and tried to get me help sooner. They also clarified that if the repair people found the unit to be unrepairable that they would then order a new one. At that point we decided to just go for the new unit since we needed to wait anyway for the repair. It would be another 5 days. I told the Home Depot person that I had read that other people seemed to find that the units rattled horribly and she spoke with the LG person who said that the units are small enough for the people on the delivery trucks to handle easily and so they are not always careful with them - hence the problem upon arrival. (This seems an incredible waste of labor and material!) So in the end we were slated for another 5 day wait through the hottest part of the summer, but Home Depot somehow managed to get us a unit in just 2 days! We were very appreciative.
The unit sticks out into the room about 5 inches - which I did not expect, and though it seems that our sleeve in the wall is the appropriate size. Also it is somewhat noisy, though not as noisy as our old unit. We find that it cools very well! We will replace the othe unit in our home with the larger version next summer - well next spring!

I did my research and checked out countless wall units and I kept coming back to this one. Nice clean look and sooooo
cold. I love it! I also Love LG products.

Upon closer inspection our carpenter noticed the back corner was broken. Dropped at the warehouse? Will be returning for exchange as the carpenter already installed the new wall sleeve.
