Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Verified Reviewer Nice AC--A bit noisy and difficult to install
We hired the same man to install this air conditioner as we have for others we've purchased. He said this was the most difficult installation ever. The directions were impossible.
The AC puts out a lot of really cold air (that's what we wanted), but it is noisy. We don't use the "energy saver" because the drastic difference between the "on" and "off" is so great, it wakes us up.
Design is good. The remote control is terrific. I think this is about as good as one will get for a thru-the-wall AC. Would have given a 5-star review if the installantion hadn't been so difficult.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by LAURENR1950 DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT
I've had this AC for nearly 2 months, and it performs worse than the 40 year old AC removed. The old one worked - not good - but it worked. This one recycles over, and over and over all day long, and it never reaches the temperature that I've got it set at. I've got an "atomic clock" with temperature control, only 8 feet directly in front of it.
I'm so disappointed in this unit. If it were possible, I'd have my contractor take it out, and I'd return it to the store.
DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Will2008 Great through the wall AC!!
My home does not have central air but since I installed this through-the-wall AC unit in my home it feels as if I do! I have this through-the-wall AC which cools the entire downstairs of my home (roughly 600 sq feet) and I have another LG window model that cools the upstairs. This newer model AC is also about 30 pounds lighter which is great. Love the remote control too. Good price for a great product.

I would recommend LG over any other brand. I have being using this product for a couple weeks. It works fantastic. What makes it even better is the option for 115 volt outlet. I wanted I large AC unit but did not have the option to use 220V. This was a great alternative.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tiger Excellent buy - super cooling
Replaced our 4 year old Samsung units that was also 11,500 BTU. This LG unit is extremely quiet over the older unit and cools the rooms almost immediately. We have the a/c on low and it out performs the old one on high setting. Extremely pleased with this unit. Will always buy a LG a/c in the future.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MadMax Nice piece, but not without flaws.
I made a mistake of sticking a window 9.5 LG unit into the wall, so after the horrible summer of 2011 I decided to restore the balance of the Force.
Unit came nicely packed and on time. All the instructions are nicely written. I put it in the wall sleeve using urethane expanding foam from a can as I did with previous unit - it worked like a charm, keeping cold winter air and creepy summer crawlers outside.
First thing noticed - boy this thing's powerful! It almost blew my cat away, yet remained relatively quiet for such a huge machine. Remote operating crisp and from far away. Yes light do blink when the compressor starts. Please make sure you have at least 15A dedicated circuit for it - it makes ConEdison VERY happy every time it starts.
Now the "few things". I don't like the air direction thingie. Most of the wall sleeves are at ankle level, why do they do the flaps so it blows air parallel to the floor? Also the side air wings does not really work, they deflect air flow by God bless 20 degrees to each side no matter how hard you steer them.
Overall I love this unit so far. It is VERY cold, very fast and quiet. If you don't mind paying extra penny for comfort, please love yourself - buy it.

It works great, installation was pretty easy. I wish the timer function worked differently. I would like to be able to set a start time, not by number of hours. Like the energy save function.
