If your main exhaust line is less than 6" inches, then I would recommend that you exhaust both appliances individually. The reason for it is to make sure that both appliances have a safe means of heating exhaust. Dryers tent to build up lint in their exhaust lines which can cripple and reduce the venting capacity of the exhaust if not cleaned periodically. When in doubt always choose for safety first!!! Answer:
You would have to purchase your own exhaust ductwork to connect to the AC unit. It's designed to use with specific ductwork that attaches to unit and attaches to specifically designed window piece to exhaust air. It comes with necessary pieces to exhaust through window and not through dryer vent.

The short answer is the unit could be vented through a drier vent understanding the possible consequences. Most drier vents today are 4-inch in diameter. Some older, drier vents were as small as 3-inch in diameter. The LG air conditioner exhaust hose is 6-inches in diameter. So that venting through a 4-inch diameter vent will cause some restriction to air flow. If the drier vent is a short "through-the-wall vent," using a 6x4-inch reducer should not be too restrictive, yet may increase power consumption of the unit due to the condenser coil having operate at somewhat higher temperatures. Higher condensing temperatures can also cause the compressor to pump harder which can increase the noise level of the unit too. If the drier vent has any length to it, more than 2-feet, (traveling up inside a wall or horizontally in the attic) attempting to vent the unit may cause it to malfunction or damage it. The unit was designed to operate with no more than 5-feet of 6-inch ducting to achieve rated energy efficiency and long service life. Read Less

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install and user friendly! Good quality operation and great value for the money invested! June 14, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by so so If you want to use just one season of summer, it is good. However, if you want to use long lasting, it is not. I purchased this last year. At that time it was very good. But at this summer, it is not working good. warm air comes out. when I contact to the LG service, they recommend to clean filter. But I already clean it. and reinstall the vent and all things as I can. But it still no good. I really disappointed about LG product. Because last year, my washer that made from LG, also broken been around two years. I'll never purchase the LG product again. June 21, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't waste your money Does not cool my room. I have a ten year old window unit rated at 8000 btu that I want to replace. I thought that maybe this unit being 1.5x times larger in cooling capacity would do a better job cooling my room and that not being a window unit would make it easier to get it going. It was certainly easier to wheel this into the room and hook the vent up but after running almost all day at max it only dropped the room temperature by 5 degrees. It blew cold air, but did not cool the room even though it was positioned in the same place as the window unit. It's also louder than the window unit was. I'll return this one to home depot and continue searching for an AC unit but I think I will stick with the window units. June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by THIS PRODUCT WORKS GREAT!! WE LIVE IN THE DESERT IN AZ. IT GETS 120+ DEGREES OUTSIDE. THE OTHER DAY IT WAS 126 OUTSIDE 118 IN THE SHADE! BUT MY HOME WAS COOL! THIS WORKS PERFECT FOR COOLING OUR HOME. NOW WE DID 'BLANKET' OFF THE HALF OF THE HOUSE WE DON'T USE BUT THIS IS AWESOME! WELL DEFINITELY RECOOMEND THIS PRODUCT June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Why did I wait so long?? This air conditioner was so easy to install and is a serious cooling machine. I have to turn the thermostat up so I don't freeze! I love it! June 24, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Died after 2 years My primary use for this was to cool down my bedroom before I go to bed. If I had to guess I had less than 200hrs of use on it. I purchased it late June 2014 and it worked great and it worked great in 2015 also but when I turned it on for the first time in 2016 the compressor kicks on but no cold air comes out. I followed the troubleshooting guide on LG's website and it says to contact them for service. Before doing that I am going to see what my credit card company will do to fix it. If your buying this be sure to get the extended warranty on it. June 2, 2016
