Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by usac56 DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT
The unit has inherent problems with the controls. The vent that hot or cold air comes out is 3" by 6". Will not heat 100 sq. feet. Waiting to see if the cold air works, but doubt it will due to the very small opening.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by iNetSpy Exactly the A/C & Heat we needed
We have a summer cottage built in 1938 with no insulation. Approximately 1,400 square feet. The past few summers have a few weeks hitting upper 90s and high humidity. Conversely spring/fall the mornings are in the low 50s. This unit has operated perfectly. It comes with everything you need right out of the box. Take it out of the box plug it in, connect the exhaust hose, place it in the window and poof it works. This 14k btu unit cools and heats the entire first floor with no problem. Drop 20 degrees the first hours and then able to maintain mid 70s with no problems even when outside is 97+ (again even with no insulation) I will buy a second unit for upstairs. The only surprise was in HEAT mode, they highly suggest a separate bucket (not included) to remove humidity from the air. It does this very well.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by swinham Either I got a Lemon or this model has problems
I bought this unit in mid-June to heat and cool a 500 square foot utility room for our pets. It never really cooled well and seemed to put the moisture it pulled from the air right back into the room, so I stupidly bought a de-humidifier to compensate. About a month into use, it seemed to start cooling better, but then started dripping water from the bottom (NOTE: never was there an alert on the control panel that the tank was full or anything else). It wasn't leaking too bad so I called LG - twice. Both the troubleshooting steps they had me do increased the rate of leakage. Bottom-line: I bought another brand with the same functions except heat and it worked 3-4 times as good as the more expensive LG right out of the box and hasn't leaked yet. If, due to humidity here, I have to install a drain it will be easy to do and the manual for my new unit is written in sufficiently effective English that I know just how to do it. In retrospect, I should have taken it back within the first week. Kudos to Home Depot - They took the unit back and fully refunded the purchase price. They are good people. LG, not so much.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by gbwilmington Great heat pump for 100-300sqft!
My only complaint about this model is the fact that the circulation fan does not stay on when in heat mode. An energy saver "mode" for heat and cool would be nice instead of just an energy saver mode for cool. Warms and chills nicely. The condensate pump sensor is a bit flakey, though. Maybe it's just mine? Sometimes I have to tilt the unit to the right to get the sensor to active the pump. I have had overflow a couple of times but overall the unit is great!

600 dollars for this air conditioner is too expensive. I've seen comparable models at almost half the price. I should have done a little more shopping around before making this purchase. Luckily HD has a liberal return policy. The unit does a good job of cooling, but I returned it (because of the price) before using the heat function. The noise factor was another reason I didn't care for it. I had to turn it off because I couldn't sleep with it running. If you buy this model, make sure you take out the owners manual and other items that have been stored inside the exhaust hose. I mistakenly left them in there and the unit didn't work properly at first.

Have a 12 by 25 lanai wirh vinyl windows. County wouldnt permit a split systemn air conditioner due to vinyl windows. This is a sleek good looking silver color. The Installation was quick amd very easy, plugs right into an outlet. We have had it over a month use it every day. It has an energy saving mode and It tales all the humidity out in the morning when I start it, then I go to cool for instand coolness. After awhile I go to energy saver. Its powerful and does a very good job. The compressor is a little noisy but to enjoy the coolness and sit outside is well worth the noise. After awhile it becomes like white noise and you dont really pay attention. We feel this is a great value and we ar e very happy. The remote works well and it has a built in place on top back to keep it

Bought this last Spring and used it June, July and August. Put it away and this year it doesn't work. Turns on but won't cool. Called LG and they said I have to call LG Service Repair and it will be at the least $150 for a small issue and at least $250 for a big issue. LG couldn't tell me what a small issue or a big issue could be. I have purchased a brand new LG Stainless fridge for my kitchen but I will be cancelling that order. I pulled out the GE portable air conditioner that is at least 6 years old and it still runs like a champ. Bye LG
