Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tony Review of LG Stainless Steel Microwave oven
The LG microwave oven is great. Very high quality stainless steel with many user friendly features. I replaced a viking and it looks as good or better than what I"m replacing. Certainly much better value. And the dimension are almost the same so I was able to use the existing hardware. It looks so classy and works great.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by TomHVallejo Great Value Unit with a Surmountable Flaw
Just an FYI for all here:
We purchased this unit on sale at HD almost two years ago to replace a very nice but aging Dacor (Sharp) that was having issues. In our case, it fit nicely into the existing, trimmed shelf over the oven, had all the features we wanted and was well rated. We absolutely love the easy to clean interior!
Within weeks we noticed that some functions didn't work. But, we don't really use them anyway. Internet searching led me to believe this was a common issue with this unit. But, I found no dependable solutions other than replacing the controller board. But the controller board cost half of the purchase price of the microwave and there was no guarantee it would work. Worse, when I tried to find the controller board online at a discount, most parts suppliers said it had been discontinued!
Talking to LG Service was disheartening. They provided little support, only the names of three, local service companies. One of those said they didn't service microwaves and the other two had dismal ratings and were said to require a payment equal to half the purchase price of this microwave up front, even for factory warranty service. We didn't even bother. And, I started looking at non-LG replacements.
A couple of weeks back, more internet searching located a fix on youtube. It was actually for another make but I had to give it a try. And viola, it worked.
It was as simple as taking the case off and remove and reset the connector to the controller board. All the functions now worked like they were supposed to! This unit is set up for quick and cheap component assembly at the factory and it shows. The connector looses contact, probably just from heat expansion and contraction in normal operation. Or maybe due to water vapor penetration.
Well, it worked for a while. We've noticed that we are slowly loosing functions again a couple of months later. Time to pull it, open it and rest once again. Not something I relish, but better than buying another new microwave.
A word to the wise though, the stainless steel facing is very thin and set over plastic. Be careful what you set it on to pull the cover back to reset the connector. The stainless scratches and dents easily. In our case, I let the plug on the power cord get under the unit on the rug I set it down on and it left a visible indentation on the stainless steel face of the unit!

This thing is huge on the inside - could cook a large roast or a turkey! Being 1200 watts I "assumed" it would cook things in a flash - however, I do find cold spots and you have to use the same settings as for an 1100 watt oven. Inside cleans easily - outside does show fingerprints. It works and it's quiet. I'm ok with that. Great price too - on sale it was $149. I even told one of my friends who also bought one. Pleased with my purchase, just not "amazed".

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ElainefromMJ key panel works so far
I bought and replaced the same microwave less than a year ago. Two of the keys on the key panel cease to work and since I had a warranty, I replaced it with another LG microwave. My replacement appears to be the same style as my last purchase, but it may possibly be a model number (not sure). Why I purchase this particular microwave? It does something many microwaves do not. The timer and cook modes can be used at the same time. In other words: I can cook with my microwave oven and time my eggs boiling on the stove. My kid can pop something in the microwave and heat up their food without interrupting the timer. Beautiful feature which I use it often.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Thogar Annoying Reminder Beep Can't Be Turned Off, LG Offers No Support
First off, this microwave is huge. That may be an advantage if you're looking to cook/heat very large things, but it takes up a lot of space on the counter. The turntable started making noise about a month after we bought it. Called LG and they were no help at all, just kept asking me to unplug and re-plug the unit, which did nothing.
But the "Deal Killer" with this unit is the reminder beeps it insists on using after a cook cycle is done. Every 2 minutes after cooking is done, the microwave beeps the same 4-beep tone as it does when the cooking cycle ends. Unless you push the "stop" button, open the microwave, unplug the microwave, or burn down your house, this microwave will continue to beep every 2 minutes apparently FOREVER.
When I called LG about this they said this model isn't supposed to have reminder beeps, but a quick Google search shows hundreds, if not thousands, of people experiencing the exact same problem with the microwave and with LG's complete lack of customer support.
Save your money and buy a small $50 microwave from any other manufacturer. I have a house full of LG appliances, but this is the very last time I ever spend a cent on another LG product. We don't do business with companies that don't support their products and LG definitely does NOT support their products or their customers. Bye bye, LG.

Microwave was "ready to go", easy self explanatory instructions for use. Really like the reheat feature (it works perfectly). Is large enough and with enough power to reheat large platters, casserole dishes.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by HappyGG Regret purchase
My son came over to get the oven out of my car, removed it from the box and set it up for me on the counter. If he had not already done away with the box, I would have returned this microwave to Home Depot. I am always pleased with the products I buy at Home Depot but am very disappointed with this one. First of all, it's hard to read the selections on the front. They need to be clearer. Secondly, when the oven is operating it is loud. Thirdly, the interior light is extremely dim. I had used my previous microwave for 13 years so I take care of my appliances and they last me a long time. I will eventually get used to this I suppose but I'm not happy about it.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by dcasp Love LG, But this has not been held to the same standard I expect.
We purchased this model in Dec 2013, it went out a month before the warranty was up. LG was great and sent a repairman in November 2014, who had to take it with him to repair the microwave. Just had it go out again 29 of June 2016. So I know we are in the age of buying new because nothing is made to last in order to keep companies in business, but I do expect what I purchase to last for a reasonable amount of years. Maybe we had a defective unit from the start.....that is still out for the jury to decide. I loved the size of this unit but may not purchase another LG microwave this time.
