Customer Questions & Answers

Does this microwave come hardwired or can it just be plugged in?

Asked by: Anonymous
It just needs to be plugged in.

what is the recommended distance from the top of the range to the bottom of the microwave. I have a gas range

Also, what are the required parts that it says it will ad to your cart for $99
Asked by: Anonymous
I believe both answers given are incorrect. I'm sure 30" above the stove is ideal but my gas stove is 36" high and if you add 30" open to the bottom of the microwave that means the bottom of the microwave is 5 foot 6 inches above the floor. The height of the microwave I am looking at is 17-3/4" so the top of the microwave is 1/4" short of 7 feet high. I can just see a 5 foot tall woman lifting a hot roast or turkey down from this height. Please reply or e-mail me with a more realistic height above the stove surface.

What is the push bar in front?

Asked by: Anonymous
The push bar in the front extends the venting system a couple of inches over the range. This is to increase the area that is vented.

2.0 cu. ft. Over the Range Microwave in Stainless Steel is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 211.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my microwave I had all LG appliances, except my microwave, and loved them! We redid our kitchen and I got a "not LG" stove on sale - I will be looking to replace it soon. We did replace our very old Sharp microwave (which was over the range, had a computer and worked for 10 years) with this one. I love it. We use it regularly since our daughter and grandsons have moved in with us, and have had no problems with it. We love the sensor heat option - no cold spots or badly overheated food. The slide out exhaust fan is great as it manages steam from the front burners very well. We are fans of LG appliances, having owned a washer, dryer, stove, fridge and dishwasher.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Problem with the Extenda Vent Love the sleek look and LG's innovation. I like the idea that the Extenda Vent covers the front burners and offer better ventilation. However, after 5 weeks use, the front of the vent that extends out (steel part) started to warp. It's quite disappointing! I had to call LG to schedule an in-home service appointment this week. So, hopefully things will work out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 3 Repairs inside of 1 year This is a poor quality microwave. I had a GE prior and it worked well for 11 years. I purchased this one 10 months ago and I'm now calling for the 3rd service call. LG service requires me to call and schedule the appointment with a service provider and the only two in my area are no longer supporting LG or covering my area. On my third call back to LG on this incident they sent my case to "scheduling" who is going to try to find a company who will service it under special contract (just what I don't want). I've asked for a replacement assuming this is a lemon, but LG would rather attempt to fix this for the 3rd time. I assume this means this is standard for their products; if they were as appalled as I am about the poor quality of this unit they'd be anxious to get it out of the field. This will be my last LG product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dead after 3 Years and 2 Months Purchased the LMHM2017 in Nov. 2011 and absolutely loved this microwave. Used 90% of the cook settings. Popcorn setting was on the money. The Extend-A-Vent was very useful when foods were burned on the underlying gas range to quickly dissipate smoke. However, the microwave did not last for a reasonable amount of time. It died in January 2015 so I'm out hunting a replacement. If LG had not reduced the height and location of the viewing window, I would consider another LG to match my 2011 LG appliances. LG....you lose on this one! Will purchase another brand where I can see what's over-cooking. What on earth were you thinking? Listen to the women who use these appliances.....please.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from microwave great, fan blah After much debate on whether to get an over the range microwave or a hood vent, we chose the space saving over the range microwave and went with this lg because it matches our stove and it also is the only one of its kind that has a pull out vent off the front. The features are great and the microwave looks awesome have had for a month now. I will say the big disappointment is still the vent, it has three settings low, high, and turbo. Low will basically do nothing, high will work if you are using the back burners and turbo must be used if using the front burner, and the extender must be out always, even if using back burners. High is loud, turbo is even louder. Great cooking features so far, BUT our main concern the vent is average at best for something that is supposed to be 400cfm, loud and does not work great unless on turbo. Its the only real option considering no others pull out if you are concerned with real ventilation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't last very long Unit stopped working within 33 months of purchase. Considering I have 6 LG products in my house I thought I might get some special treatment from LG, NO such luck. Told me to call for service. While the magnetron is still under warranty, the cost of labor and the assosicated parts will cost more then a new unit. Looking for a new unit but NOT LG [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LG under the counter 2.0 ft microwave st steel We purchased the under the counter microwave sine we just purchased all the other Lg product the gas range and the french door refrigerator for our self's for Christmas we did not received them until February since there was a back log on all of them since lots of people must have liked them for the price they had on all their lg products. Just want to let everybody know they are wonderful and even the bad things they wrote about this microwave it is the best one i ever had so far and i had lots of them small or big. I do not have any problems of being noisy or shaking or anything it works like a charm reheats well cooks well and defrosts well also. for the price it is the best and beats some of the more expensive once i think. the only thin i have to get used to is the stainless steel to clean but i found out that vinegar and water is the best cleaner and it keeps them shining. all the stainless steel cleaner leaves streaks ans smears so the best is still the old home remedy cleaning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classy and quality with good service My wife and I looked long and hard for a good looking stainless steel microwave to match our new kitchen. I also wanted a technically well made unit (I am an engineer) and was pretty fussy about a brand and model. We also wanted an over-the-range unit which would actually extract and the extendible extractor on this unit did not disappoint. We initially had a small problem with the unit (interior light) and the help I received from LG went way beyond what one might expect from a manufacturer. I'd recommend this unit (and brand) to anyone who asked me.
