Answer:
This machine does not have any venting. It does not exhaust dryer air. It uses condensation drying instead, which is exhausted through the water drain.

It doesn't need vented, it dries by evaporation. You do need the water and drain lines, which will make where you are putting this handy.

Wash dry itself not noisy at all. Machine getting water gets little noisy. Vibration is very higher it spins - experience from my older apartment is while machine hardly moves when it spins you feel vibrations in walls floor glasses rattle.. I installed rubber things under feet helps a lot. Also its very short periods of time the machine spins and result great.

accessory pedestal as described below.
NOTE: Please note that the floor must be strong
and rigid enough to support the weight of the
washer when fully loaded, without flexing or
bouncing. If your floor has too much flex in it,
you may need to reinforce it to make it more
rigid. A floor that is adequate for a top-loading
washer may not be rigid enough for a frontloading
washer due to the difference in the spin
speed and direction. If the floor is not solid, your
washer may vibrate and you may hear and feel
the vibration throughout your house.
NOTE: Before installing the
washer, make sure the floor is
clean, dry and free of dust, dirt,
water and oils so the washer feet
can not slide easily. Leveling
feet that can move or slide on the floor can
contribute to excess vibration and noise due to
poor contact with the floor.

Answer:
Yes, it is possible to perform a WASH ONLY, or a DRY ONLY, as well as a WASH & DRY cycle. There are some wash cycles that do not allow a dry cycle. For other cycles, simply do not use the DRY dial/button and no DRY cycle will activate. For a DRY ONLY, after turning the machine on, do not set a wash cycle. Simply adjust the DRY controls, and the unit should perform a DRY ONLY Cycle.

A word of caution, if you have really hard water in your area, like me, the intake water valves can stick. So if you're getting wet cloths - not damp, wet and dripping - at the end of a cycle, look to the valves FIRST because a stuck valve means that you have water coming in during the dry cycle and no pump taking it out. It took us 5 tries and unnecessary replacement of several parts to figure this one out, so I thought I'd pass it on. It's a GREAT machine. A real workhorse. Read Less

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 70 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for apartment living I've had this combo machine for a year and a half now. It took some getting used to but I love it in spite of the fact that I've had the pump replaced once (collected a hair pin) and had the technician here recently to scrub all the lint out of the insides. This machine does need a little babying. This unit is relatively quiet if you don't mind the sound of the pump running during the dry cycle. I can barely hear the wash cycle. Yes the clothes come out mildly damp but they are dry in a few minutes. And yes if you over dry them they will wrinkle because it gets crazy hot in there. Like the other reviewers mentioned you have to wipe down the seals after each use for lint, and the clothes can get linty but this usually happens when you don't run the self cleaning cycle often enough or if you overload it. The reason I love this machine is because I can use it in my old rental apartment and avoid leaving the house to clean my clothes. The clothes come out VERY clean and it hardly uses any water. It's already paid for itself in convenience and my electricity bill only went up around $3.00 a month while doing approximately 5-7 loads a week. If you are in a situation where you can't vent or want an environmentally friendly washing option I would highly recommend this machine. May 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by this product is great.. I have monthly maintenance with calgon or bleach... no damage clothes April 18, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unhappy. .complete waste of money Imo, the only feature that is positive, is the space saving feature. Clothes come out damp and need to be exposed to air to complete drying, or they over dry and come out wrinkled. The lint collects around the rubber lining and has to wiped down between every use. We have had the machine for a year and have had to have service man out on 3 occasions already. The pump has been replaced once. For the price, I can't justify the purchase. Having separate machines cuts the time back drastically. If you set the dry time for 30 minutes, it automatically goes to 57 minutes, so on and so forth. Clothes almost always need to be rolled with a lint brush. January 17, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by WORST WASTE OF LIFE EVER This thing washes, but LEGIT does not dry. takes 8 hours just to do a few towels? and they still come out damp, are you kidding me????? better off paying a laundry service to do your clothes rather than racking up your electric bill and wasting all your time " Re-Dying" your clothes. so annoying and so angry. March 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Have had ten years with almost no issues you purchase this combo because you have no vent to the outside. Otherwise, buy a regular washer and dryer. That said, if you have no vent this is a terrific alternative to the laundromat. It isn't perfect: the load you can put in is very small. If you put in a small load your wash/dry can be finished in two hours. First:small load. Second: speed wash. Third: regular dry. Fourth: stop the dry after 1 3/4 hours of total operation. Wait for five minutes and take your clothes out. They will be dry enough unless you are living in south Florida or somewhere humid. September 21, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Wrinkles I have a lot of LG products(TV, microwave, washer, dryer). They usually have a good dependable product, but my wife is very disappointed with this product. All of the clothes come our wrinkled, and she does use fabric softener. If I could trade it in I would get the stackable washer/dryer for the apartment that we're going to move into. The LG washer and dryer that we had, she loved. She is not pleased with the length of time that it take to do a load of clothes. When doing a large load (a set of king size sheets and pillow cases) the washing and drying spin cycle is very noisy from the vibration.. April 5, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AWESOME PRODUCT This compact, durable, and efficient machine fits well in my small laundry closet, where I opted to have one machine versus two or even the bulky and awkward "stacking" combo machines. The machine is pricey but provides a good investment when considering the energy expense of running it year round. I echo other reviewers' recommendation to read the manual carefully to take most advantage of the nice features. This kind of dryer seems to take a bit longer than the vented kind to finish drying laundry. LG provides helpful customer support on their website. Overall excellent product. April 3, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Less Than Good- Buy a Different Machine I regret purchasing this machine. It's not quiet as other reviews mention. Does not clean cloths well. Takes an unreasonable amount of time for a small load, and no lint trap, leaving it all over the cloths. July 24, 2015
