Customer Questions & Answers

Can you use detergent pods in these machines or is liquid detergent preferred?

Asked by: LAC
You can. Toss in in the drum before the clothes. But if you want to use the pre-wash cycle, you need to use a powder detergent. The liquid will run into the drum too soon.

How long does it take for a full load to wash and dry?

wash cycle is x min? Drying cycle is x min. What is x?
Asked by: Nan
Anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the cycle and the weight of the load. I run it overnight to wash my jeans.

What Kind of Circuit Needed

most of the combos Ive seen require a 30amp dedicated circuit. Is that true with this one
Asked by: HandyPro
This unit only needs a 110 volt, grounded outlet. Mine is on the same 20 amp circuit as the fridge and coffee pot with no problems.

Customer Reviews

2.3 cu. ft. Washer and Electric Ventless Dryer in White is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 144.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product We downsized to an in-law suite and had to give up our big side by sides, we did not like the over/under washer dryer models because we are not tall and had a hard time reaching the controls on the top of the dryers. We did some research on the web and found the LG Washer/Dryer combo. We ran our first FULL load and like a lot of people found out it took forever to dry the clothes. After READING the manual a second time we ran smaller loads and everything came out clean AND dry. Thank you LG! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performs just as expected We found a way to get a complete wash in 51 minutes and use a dry cycle of either 30 or 60 minutes, with an extra ten minutes for cool down. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Space and Money Saver I purchased the LG 2.3 cubic ft washer and electric ventless dryer about 3 weeks ago. I am quite satisfied with the product. I replaced a 15 year old beast of a washer and dryer (vented) with this new unit. It freed up valuable storage space in my laundry room and is saving me money on water and electricity. I used similar units while stationed in Germany and got used to the longer wash cycles and how to tweak the various settings. If you don't know how to use certain features, you not only have the manual but can YouTube this unit and watch instructional videos. I looked up how to use the drying feature without the wash cycle on YouTube and it works....the LG manual tells you something snarky like, if you want to only dry something you should have purchased a separate washer and dryer...yeah, thanks for nothing LG on that one. It's a good purchase if you are single or a small family...would recommend the bigger capacity model for a family of more than 3 people.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Excited at first but not anymore... Moved into a new townhome where this washer/dryer combo was already installed. At first when you hear you have a combo like this you think to yourself, "wow, I can save space by having both combined into one." Unfortunately, I have had nothing but negative feelings about it. The clothes come out feeling like they didn't get washed correctly. Having clothes come out smelling unclean or the same way they were first put in is frustrating. Also, the amount of water that is left behind on the fabric softener container is insane. I wish I could exchange it or have it fixed! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality machine...3 repairs in 3 years This washer/dryed worked perfect for the first two years but from then on it seems to break down every couple of months. First the drain hose ($40 for a hose) started leaking due to the poor restraint design. Then the drain pump stopped working as well as few months later (~$50). Now not barely a month after that the washer wont turn on so it is likely either the display board (~$80) or the main control board ($150)...I am a Mechanical Engineer so I can make the repairs myself, but if I wasnt able to then I would have had to shell more than the washer is worth on repairs already. Do yourself a favor and do not buy this!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No problems The good news is that the machine works great. The clothes get clean. It is capable of washing even a large quilt, as long as I take it out and air-dry it. The bad news: Drying heavy items such as a load of jeans takes a very long time. The easiest way I found is to start this load in the evening, and it will be finished and dry in the morning. The vibration during the spin cycle shakes my third floor apartment, but it only lasts for a few minutes. I suspect that almost any washing machine would do the same thing. Overall, I am very pleased with this machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect washer for me I had to move to an apartment. I am highly allergic to odors. I washed my clothes at a laundry mat, using my own free and clear detergent and could not wear them. I read all of the reviews on this product. Some not too good, but I had no choice, but to purchase it. I had to hook it up to my kitchen sink. The delivery man, said it could not be done and did not leave the washer. I called Home Depot and a employee named Charles helped me. I then reordered the washing machine. I got an adapter for my kitchen faucet and then got a hose Y. Works great. I put a lint screen on the drain hose. There isn't too much water, that drains out at one time, so the sink can't run over. According to the reviews, it takes 3 to 5 hours to dry. A rep. at LG told me, that this machine will not dry at all. I would have to hang dry everything I washed. I put in some camisoles and T shirts. When finished washing, I could hang the camisoles to dry, but the T shirts were too wrinkled. I put them back in to dry. I set it for 120 minuets, thinking I would then take them out, and hang them up to finish drying. But, they were dry with the normal T shirt wrinkles. I have only used this machine 5 times and I love it. I am enclosing some pictures of my kitchen sink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our friend "R2D2" My mom and I love our little combo! Named it R2D2 because it's white with flashing lights and emits cute tunes at the end of dry and cool down cycles. Works just great though if you have a large amount of laundry or kids to wash up for this probably isn't for you because it can take 6 hours to do one load. Perfect for a small space and small family. We have gotten into the habit of starting a load every morning but you could also do your laundry at night while you sleep. There is some vibration on final spin out but we put 4 vibration pads under the feet which cut that down to a minimum. Added value: we probably have the only one in our city - quite the conversation starter!
